The first official report about COVID-19 from WHO was on December 31, 2020, when the organization announced that dozens of people were treated in China from pneumonia of unknown cause.
Since then this virus has escalated to the entire world.

As a result of this pandemic, we have been bombarded with a wide range of news from various news stations on the television and social media.
We have also been bombarded with a new vocabulary regarding this virus.
Most of these terminologies are designed to create fear in the hearts of people.
Whenever I heard some of the terms used by the health professionals and news broadcasters I found myself rebuking their negative impact.
The Bible states that pleasant words are like honeycombs sweet to the soul and health to the bones (Proverbs 16:24)
On the other hand, the mouth of the wicked is perverse and deceitful and will be cut off (Proverbs 10:31-32).

It is a fact that the words that you speak will produce life or death (Proverbs 18:21). Yet the words that are spoken regarding this disease are mostly words of death.
I will list some of these words or phrases and counteract them with the words of life from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Indeed, the Lord declared,
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63)
The negative words of death are in red while the positive words of life to counteract the words of death are in blue.
Outbreak – A large sudden active manifestation of the virus in a particular location. It is like an eruption.
Quicken – Think about the empowering of the Holy Spirit that will revive you and restore health and life to your body, soul, and spirit.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: (Ephesians 2:4-5)

Incubation – The time (2-14 days) that the disease remains inactive inside a person’s body before he succumbs to the disease.
Nullify – The Lord will frustrate and hinder the plots of Satan so that his seed (virus) will not germinate in your body.
And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. (Malachi 3:11)
Transmission – The spread of the disease from one person to another. It is believed that COVI-19 is spread by droplets and by touching contaminated surfaces.
Prayer – Our best weapon to stop the spread of this disease is consistent prayer. When we pray we open a direct line of communication to our great God who will hear and answer immediately.
Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:12-13NKJV)

Social distancing – Ensuring that you stay at least six feet away from other people.
Unity – Behold, how good, and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalms 133:1)
During this time of tribulation that we are all going through, the Lord wants us to come together to encourage each other in love. The enemy does not want us to be united so he sent this virus to create division.
However, we can connect with each other spiritually through prayer, communication, monitoring, and being our brother’s keeper.
Always remember that we serve ONE God!
I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (Ephesians 4:1-6NKJV)

Self-isolation – Isolating yourself at home if you have traveled or you suspect that you came in contact with a person who has the virus.
Self-isolation and quarantine encourage loneliness.
Strength and courage from the Lord – The Holy Spirit who dwells in your heart will drive out the spirit of loneliness.
Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Shelter in place (Lockdown or house arrest) – The government officials ordered everyone to remain inside their house for a specific time. The people are only allowed out for emergencies and are constantly monitored by armed forces on the street.
Secret place or sanctuary of God – Think of how precious it is to be safely secured in the secret place of God under the shadow of His wings.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. (Psalms 91:1-3)
Deadliest day – Any day that a country or state has the highest deaths from COVID-19.
Life – The Lord is not a God of the dead but the living because in the Lord Jesus Christ is life and this life is the light of men (Luke 20:38; John 1:4)
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Never forget that the WORD of God is more powerful than the deceptive language of the enemy!
