Presence of the Lord

1–2 minutes

You cannot escape the presence of God.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? (Psalms 139:7)

The presence of the Lord can be a terrifying experience.

I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger. (Jeremiah 4:26)

The children of Israel were afraid of the presence of God on Mount Sinai.

They felt the earthquake and saw the fire and lightning coming from the mountain and they begged Moses to speak to God on their behalf because they were afraid of His presence.

Moses was not afraid of the presence of the Lord because of the relationship that he had with Him.

When you have a relationship with God, you will not be terrified in His presence. Instead, you will have pleasure in the presence of the Lord.

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalms 16:11)

The presence of the Lord will also give you peace.

Go in peace

May you find joy and peace in the presence of the Lord.
