From the beginning of creation, God intended for man to work.

In five days God created the entire universe including the plants on earth. But, God did not allow the rain to fall on the earth because there was no man to till the ground.

So on the sixth day, the Lord God formed man from the dust of the earth (Genesis 2:5-7).

The labor of man became even harder after he sinned and was driven from the fertile Garden of Eden to till a tough earth filled with thorns and thistles (Genesis 3;17-19).

Since that awful day, humans have to work hard to provide food and shelter for their family.

As soon as the children graduated from high school or college parents encouraged them to find a job to take care of their needs.

If you do not work you will be hungry and homeless. This is the sad reality of life.

Indeed the Bible states that slothfulness will cast a deep sleep on you and an idle soul will suffer hunger (Proverbs 19:15).

He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. (Proverbs 10:4)

If you go to the home of a lazy man what will you find?

The lazy man’s house will be broken down and in disarray.

You will find his farm overgrown with thorns and covered in nettles.

The fence are broken down and I am sure his animals will wander off into the desert.

A place that is filled with thorns and bushes are the habitat for the dragon.

The devil or dragon will stir up mischief in the homes of idlers.

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest; so shall your poverty come like a prowler and your need like an armed man. (Proverbs 24:33-34)

Therefore, do not despise your job. Whatever you do in life, do it heartily to the Lord and not unto men (Colossians 3:23).

The Lord will reward you for the labor that you do in humility and sincerity.
