This morning I was reminded about the importance of continual prayer.
As I was driving down the hill from my house, the brake shoe fell out of the car on the road and the brake failed.
I drove a Suzuki Jimny. It is small but very reliable and I thank God for it.
The brake failed just before I reached the steeper portion of the hill so I was able to stop the car to prevent an accident.
I know that my God intervened to prevent a disaster. This is the second time my brake shoe fell out of the car while I was driving it.
The Lord provided a stranger on the road to help me get to work and he also called his mechanic who later fixed the car.
For the entire day I was convicted that I needed to pray more often.
I need to pray when I woke up in the morning, pray while taking a bath, pray while preparing breakfast, pray while eating breakfast.
I need to pray before I drive to work, pray while driving on the road, pray when I reach my destination and pray throughout the day until I return home. Then I begin to pray all over again.
A long and lengthy prayer is not necessary. Two or three sentences spoken from a pure and sincere heart are enough to reach the heart of God.
The key is to pray without ceasing!
Amen!
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16)
