The Word of the Lord is Good!
The Word of the Lord has been tested and proven. His Word is dependable and trustworthy.
The Word of the Lord was subjected to hardship and trouble.
Let us look at a few people who have proved and tested that the Word of the Lord is faithful.
Noah received a Word from the Lord that there would be a flood on the land.
Though Noah had never seen rain, and though he was rediculed and persecuted by unbelievers, he believed the Word of the Lord and build an Ark and was saved with his family.
After these things the Word of theΒ LordΒ came to AbramΒ in a vision, saying,Β βDo not be afraid, Abram. IΒ amΒ yourΒ shield,Β your exceedinglyΒ great reward.β (Genesis 15:1)
By faith Abraham obeyed the Word of the Lord when God told him to relocate to a far away land where he knew nothing about.
But, by faith Abraham obeyed and received a great inheritance.
By faith Abraham believed the Word of the Lord that he would have a son in his old age and be the father of a great nation.
The prophetic Word of God was fullfilled even though Abraham did not live to see it.
Moses believed the Word of the Lord that He would deliver the children of Israel from the bondage of Egypt.
Though Moses endured persecution, hardship and rejection, he continued to believe the Word of the Lord. Then, after ten plagues, Pharoah released the children of Israel.
David received a Word from the Lord while he was a mere shepherd boy that he would be king over all Israel.
He was hunted by Saul to be killed and spent many years in the wilderness as a fugitive.
In spite of this, David held on to the Word of the Lord until the promise of God was fulfilled in his life.
The widow atΒ Zarephath obeyed the Word of the Lord to give her last meal to the man of God; and she, Elijah and her household ate forΒ manyΒ days.Β
The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the Word of theΒ LordΒ which He spoke by Elijah. (1 Kings 17:15-16)Β
And it came to passΒ afterΒ many days that the Word of theΒ LordΒ came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, βGo, present yourself to Ahab, andΒ I will send rain on the earth.β (1 Kings 18:1)
King Ahab and his evil wife, Jezebel had massacred most of the prophets of God in Israel and they sought Elijah to kill him.
Even though Elijah feared for his life, he believed and obeyed the Word of God more than his life and presented himself to Ahab.
So Elijah went to present himself to Ahab; andΒ there wasΒ a severe famine in Samaria. (1Kings 18:2)
After obtaining revenge by killing eight hundred and fifty of Jezebel’s false prophets on Mount Carmel, the Lord sent rain on the land.
Then the Word of theΒ LordΒ came to me, saying:Β βBefore IΒ formed you in the wombΒ I knew you; before you were born IΒ sanctifiedΒ you; IΒ ordained you a prophet to the nations.β (Jeremiah 1:4-5)
Jeremiah spent the rest of his life declaring, “thus says the Lord…”
He was persecuted by the people and other prophets and was calledΒ a prophet of doom because he only prophesied violence and plunder.
Jeremiah said that the Word of the Lord had made him a daily reproach and derision.
He became frustrated and decided to quit. He said that he would not mention the name of the Lord again.
But, the Word of God was in his heart like a burning fire shut up within his bones. He couldn’t stifle it, but had to release it.
Hallelujah!
What else can I say?
The Word of the Lord has been tried and proven in my life. I am a living testimony of the goodness and mercy of God.
Do not reject the Word of the Lord but believe it, and it will come to pass in your life.
