The age of scientific knowledge began when God celestial beings who had corrupted themselves on earth taught men advanced knowledge, but they also taught them witchcraft.

The population became so corrupted that God had to destroy the earth with a flood.

After the flood, the Lord made a covenant with Noah that He would no longer destroy the earth with water. The sign of the promise was a rainbow in the sky.

The Lord also told Noah and his family to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. (Genesis 7)

A generation of people was birth from Noah’s three children but one of his son, Ham, was corrupted by sin and God told Noah to place a curse on his descendants.

Ham, the youngest son of Noah, was disrespectful to his father when he exposed his father’s nakedness instead of covering it.

Nakedness was a sign of sin which was the state of Adam and his wife when they disobeyed God’s command. The Lord knew that Ham’s generation would refuse to follow His command, so He cursed his generation.

As the population on earth grew, one of Ham’s descendant, Nimrod, decided to build a kingdom which would be famous worldwide. They traveled east and found a plain in Shinar.

They decided to make a city with a great tower out of clay bricks instead of stone so that they could make a name for themselves. Why did these people select to use clay bricks instead of stones?

Over the years, painters depicted this tower as a very tall brick building. However, I can’t see the reason why such a structure would move God Almighty to come down to earth to inspect it.

He could simply send a strong puff of the wind to blow it down every time they erected it until they became frustrated.

I do believe it was not the physical structure of the tower that was the problem. It was the people’s concept and purpose of building it.

Perhaps the folks at Babel had resurrected the ancient knowledge of science and witchcraft from the past and decided to continue their practice.  Maybe they were trying to devise ways in which they could transport themselves into the heavens.

Irrespective of the reason for building the structure, their aim was to be famous throughout the world.

The Lord was not going to allow the world to become corrupted again, so He decided to come down to the earth to put a stop to it.

The people were united together in language and purpose. So the Lord changed the language of the people to create confusion thus scattering them across the face of the earth.

 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one, and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. 

Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”  (Genesis 11:5-6)

The Lord pluralized Himself (let us) similar to what He said before He created man ( Genesis 1:26). Thus, the events that were taking place in Babel had to be significant to move God to come down to earth to disrupt it.

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit changed the language of the disciples to unite all the Jews from different countries so that they could understand each other. The Lord is surely amazing!

The system of Babel is once more in our present society. Scientists are now trying to find out how the world began. They are using very sophisticated equipment to find the basic unit of matter.

They collide particles at the speed of light or close to it to split them further into smaller units. They are trying to create the first particle that ignites or start the universe.

How can they accomplish this? They believe that by splitting particles into their smallest portion, they will eventually find the original that began the world.

Note that when these particles are broken together, they produced tremendous energy that can destroy the earth if not adequately controlled.

The experiments are done in a particular underground laboratory at an institution called CERN which was founded in 1954. So this lab existed a long time ago but only recently most people know about it.

In 1989, a British scientist, Tim Berners-Lee, at CERN discovered the internet that we are using right now. They have also discovered other technology that is used in medicine and the military. However, their primary purpose is to find out how the universe was created.

During my high school years, I learned that matter is made up of solid, liquid and gas; and the smallest particle of matter is an atom which is composed of a nucleus, electron, and proton.

Well, apparently this is old knowledge because the scientists at CERN have discovered much smaller particles than the atom or electron.

Researchers are also finding other forms of matter and energy such as dark matter, antimatter and dark energy that they did not know existed. They are learning things that they may not know how to handle.

These discoveries sound like science fiction but they are factual, and you can read it for yourself on their official website right here.

The scientists at CERN are curious about our origin. The Bible stated that the universe and mankind originate from God. But, who is God? They view the Bible as a history book.

It does not contain any mathematical or scientific formula of how the world began, so they disregard the Bible and have decided to research the origin for themselves by venturing into the unknown.

The CERN project is also a united effort by 22 member states. They are united in language – the language of science – with the same mission, to transport themselves back in time to find out how the world began. They are venturing into God’s business.

Are scientists trying to unearth the ancient knowledge and wisdom of the era of Noah to help them along their journey? Are they trying to gain knowledge from the underworld?

What will happen if they venture out too far? Do you think that they will eventually accomplish their goal? Can they control any unexpected events that may spontaneously occur during one of these collisions?

The scientists at CERN do not understand that before the world was created, there was God and the darkness (Genesis 1:1). Who is God?

What is the darkness? Is it the same as dark matter?

These scientists must first find the exact answers to the latter questions before going too far into their research because if they do locate the origin, they are either going to come face to face with God, the Creator, or the darkness.

I am the Lord that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images. (Isaiah 42:8)

According to the above Scripture, the Lord said that He would not share His glory with a man so more than likely if the scientists find the origin of creation, they will find darkness.

How will they respond? And what will happen to us and our planet? Can humans withstand the darkness?

I hope that while these scientists are searching, they will encounter the light of our Lord Jesus Christ which will force them into submission. They cannot kick against the goads (Acts 9:5).
