Many of us do not like to wait for anything. When we want something, we want to get it right away.

To delay is time wasted we believe. So sometimes we take matters into our hands and just go for it. But when we do we are often disappointed which may develop into stress.

Many women are guilty of this while most men like to regurgitate on things for a while before they act.

Patience or longsuffering is a fruit of the spirit which you can receive from the Lord (Galatians 5:22-23). When you have it you will be able to:

WAIT ON THE LORD – THE BEST IS YET TO COME

I looked at the forbidden tree,

And behold its fruits were appealing and attractive.

They were a delight to my senses

And my heart race anxiously to satisfy my craving.

So I reached out and tasted.

But alas its fruits were sour on the tongue

And bitter in the belly,

They lack maturity.

Impatience generates misery and distress;

Lack of endurance produces shame,

And the enemy will triumph over you.

Give your desires and dreams to the Lord

And allow Him to transform them.

While you wait, the Lord will mold

Your character to enhance the distinguishing

Qualities of His spirit within you.

The Lord will replace your fear with love.

He will turn your doubt into faith;

Your impatience into self-control;

Your anger into joy.

He will take your sorrow and give you beauty for ashes,

The oil of joy for mourning;

The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

So that He can plant you into trees of righteousness.

Therefore, ‘I pray that your love may abound yet more

And more in knowledge and all discernment;

So that you may approve the things that are excellent;

That you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ;

Being filled with fruits of righteousness,

Through Jesus Christ, to the glory and peace of God.’ (Philippians 1:9-11)

Let integrity and uprightness preserve you

While you wait on the Lord;

Because those who wait on the Lord will not be disappointed.

He is good to those who wait for him

And to the soul who seeks him.

For your visions and dreams is for an appointed time,

And it hurries toward the end and won’t prove false.

Though it takes time, wait for it, because it will surely come.

It will not delay.

Be patient, wait!

For the best is yet to come. Amen
