And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

(Jeremiah 29:13 KJV)

God said if you search for Him you will find Him. But, where will you find God?

Some people search for God through meditation hoping that they will transcend to another realm where they will find God.

Some people search for God through good works hoping that they will find Him among the poor and desolate people.

Some people search for God in different religions or churches hoping that one day they will meet God in the perfect church.

Is it possible to find God through these various methods?

Let us examine some of these methods and see what the Bible says about them.

Can you find God through meditation?

The simplest form of meditation is done to help release stress and produce mental calmness.

Certain religions believe that deep meditation will produce enlightenment and wisdom thus bringing them closer to God.

The Bible states that the wisdom of this world or man-made wisdom is foolishness to God.

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

(1 Corinthians 3:18-19 KJV)

Therefore, we can rule out this method because God does not abide in worldly wisdom.

Can you find God in the good works that you do?

The Bible says that your good works will not save you otherwise you will be filled with pride in your abilities.

God saved you by His grace through your faith in the redemptive work of His Son Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Which religion or church serves the true God?

If you search all the religions in the world and attend all the various churches, will you find the true and living God?

There is only one answer to this question and only one solution to all the various methods that people used to find God.

This answer is found in no other person but the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6 NKJV).

If you want to find Jehovah – the only true and living God – you have to do so through His Son Jesus Christ.

You may ask, how do I find Jesus Christ?

You can find Him by calling on the name of JESUS and He will hear you.

Because,

There is power in the name of Jesus:

Power to save!

…that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

(Philippians 2:10-11 NKJV)

Power to heal all your diseases!

Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

(Acts 3:6 NKJV)

Power to deliver you from every unclean spirit!

And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.

(Acts 16:18 NKJV)

Because of this great power in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ everything that we say and do, we will “do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:17 NKJV)
