Benefits Of Keeping A Positive Mind

This post was inspired by the following quotation by Mahatma Gandhi. The source of the quote is from DandelionQuotes.com.

Keeping a positive mindset

It is always good to keep a positive mindset in these uncertain times. Negative thoughts can enter your mind to sabotage your blessings. So how do you prevent this from happening?

You will always think about things that dominate your life. If your life is based upon the things of this world (pride and lust) you will always think about sinful things.

But if your mind is controlled by the Holy Spirit you will think about the things that please God.

Furthermore, if you allow the sinful nature to control your mind it will lead to spiritual death but if the Holy Spirit controls your mind you will have life and peace (Romans 8:5-7).

How do you allow the Holy Spirit to control your mind?

When you are in total obedience to the Holy Spirit He will control your mind. The best way to achieve this is to receive the mind of Christ.

The mind of Christ is humility and total obedience to the Father.

Jesus thought it “not robbery to be equal with God but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” (Philippians 2:7-8 NKJV)

After Jesus completed His task on earth, God gave Him the highest reward on earth and in heaven.

The Father gave Jesus a powerful NAME…” that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11)

The sinful nature of man will always obey the world (lust and pride) and never the laws of God. But the born-again believers in Jesus Christ will never be slave to the sinful world.

Instead, they have become children of God and has the legal rights to call God “Abba Father.” Hence, together with Christ you have been made heirs of God’s glory (Romans 8:9-16).

The result of positive thoughts

Your thoughts will always affect the words that you speak.

Have you known someone who only speaks expletive words?

Well, they have shown you their thoughts because “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” (Matthew 12:24)

The Lord will teach you how to speak and He will give you a Word in season (Isaiah 50:4).

Speak the Word of God over your life and let it become a lamp to guide your feet and to light your path (Psalms 119:105).

A pathway that is lit by the light of God’s Word will definitely reflect in your behavior.

Your behavior will not be similar to the customs of this world but will be transformed by the renewing of your mind and then you will know the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:1-2)

The result of positive behavior

Positive behavior will become a habit, which will eventually shape your destiny and purpose on this earth.

Never underestimate the power of your mind. It affects your entire life on this earth and your future life in heaven.

Share with us your thoughts on how you keep a positive mind.

    • Finally, Brethren, Whatsoever Things Are True, Whatsoever Things Are Honest, Whatsover Things Are Just, Whatsover Things Are Pure, Whatsoever Things Are Lovely, Whatsoever Things Are of Good Report; If there is any virtue, and if they are a praise, think on these things.
