Three Healthy Habits To Do Before Going To Bed.
Healthy routines for a restful sleep
It is always a great idea to pray before going to bed but there is one other important thing that you must do before retiring for the night.

Cleanse your heart and mind!
The Bible states that you should never let the sun goes down on your wrath (Ephesians 4:26).
You may not be angry with anyone in particular but sometimes you may be upset over daily activities that may not turn out the way you want it.
For example, a package that you are waiting on may delay or the supermarket may run out of your favorite items.
Speaking of supermarket, it seem as if the prices of goods increase everytime you shop.
That is something to get anyone annoyed.
Therefore, the mind definitely needs cleansing after a day of mishaps or a day of regular activities.
Cleansing your mind
Begin by forgiving.
Yes, forgive the supermarket, forgive the postal service, forgive your boss for shouting at you unnecessarily, forgive your spouse or children for whatever wrong they have done to you.
Take a deep breath and release it with forgiveness.
You can do it!
Certainly you can!
The second exercise that you must do before retiring is to prophesy to yourself that you can do it.
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13).
Without Jesus it is impossible to accomplish any goals.
But nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37).
There is nothing too hard for the Lord (Jeremiah 32:17, 27).
God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind.
(Numbers 23:19 NLT)
Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
Only humans often lie and change their mind.
But when God promised you something you can count on Him to fulfill it.

Finally, conclude your self examination by asking the Lord to teach you how to live.
Lord, teach me how to live.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge the Lord and He will direct your path.”
When you trust the Lord completely, you allow Him to make every decision in your life even the simple ones.
When you trust the Lord you will be confident that everything is working out for your good.
When you trust the Lord you can step out of the boat 🚢 and walk on the sea 🌊.

These are wonderful tips. There can be many stressors during the day so we have to be intentional about letting things go. Doing some stretches before bed or reading helps me. And of course as you mentioned, prayer.

Going to bed with problems on the mind is definitely detrimental to your health. As you said we have to be intentional about letting things go. We have to find ways to unwind after a hard day. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I pray that your week will be blessed.

Great thoughts – especially to clear our mind of unforgiveness, stress, worries. To give it all to Jesus and rest in His peace.

I make a practice of simply saying thank you the Lord, each night and if too many things seek to muddle my mind, I start repeating the 23rd Psalm. I don’t usually get it finished.

These are excellent tips! I love the 2nd one- because we pray for others, but sometimes we forget To prophesy and to speak life over ourselves. Thanks Beverley
