How To Be A Pineapple

I came across the above quotation by Katherine Gaskin on a Quotes App and the title grabbed my attention.

At first, I wondered why would anyone want to be a pineapple.

But when I read the entire quotation and meditate upon it for a while I realized it was the essence of what God wants His children to become.

Stand tall

To stand tall means to display a brave, proud, and confident posture.

Deuteronomy 31:6 encourages us to be strong and courageous because the Lord is always with us and He will never abandon us.

The Lord spoke these words to Joshua when he was about to cross over Jordon and take possession of the Promise Land.

The inhabitants of the land were physically stronger and more powerful than the Israelites but the Lord assured them that He would go before them and weaken the enemies (Joshua 1:9).

One of the functions of the Holy Spirit is to give us the boldness to proclaim the Word of God.

This was evident on the day of Pentecost after the disciples and followers of Jesus were baptized with the Holy Spirit, Peter boldly defended their behavior to the astonished crowd (Acts 2).

Patience is a virtue that God teaches His children through testing. The greater the trials the more tolerant you will become (Psalms 27:14; 31:24).

Two vital reasons why you can be confident about yourself are, firstly, the Lord Jesus Christ has begun the good work of salvation in your life and He will continue it until He returns.

Secondly, you can be confident of full protection when you dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of your life (Psalms 27:2).

Wear a crown

A crown signifies authority and royalty.

Indeed, when you accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior you have become part of a chosen generation of people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and God’s very own possession (1 Peter 2:9).

So, wear your crown proudly!

After we endured this earthly life filled with trials we will receive a crown of life and a crown of righteousness from the Lord Jesus Christ when He returns (2 Timothy 4:8; James 1:12; Revelation 2:10).

One of the benefits from God is that He crowns us with loving kindness and tender mercies (Psalms 103:4).

You can wear your crown proudly in this life and you can also look forward to an even more glorious crown when the Lord returns.

Be sweet on the inside

To be sweet on the inside is to display the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness (humility), and temperance (Patience) (Galatians 5:22-23).

Be the best pineapple that God wants you to be.

Are you a pineapple?
