Society says that women are the weaker sex.
Consequently, woman are conditioned to think that they are weaker and less significant than men.
A man maybe physically stronger than a woman, but the strength of a woman lies within her spirit and character.
While Jesus was on earth He had many interactions with women where He showed them love and compassion.
Jesus also highlighted the strength of women whenever He communicated with them.
As a woman, you can learn from Jesus about your inner power and how to use it wisely.
The strength of a woman
1. Your Strong Faith
Your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will produce healing and deliverance to you and your family.
Therefore, speak the words of Jesus over your situation and experience miracles and breakthroughs.
“Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.
Matthew 9:22
Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
Matthew 15:28
2. Your good work
Therefore, do not get weary in doing good because you will reap a reward on earth and in heaven if you do not give up.
But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me.”
Matthew 27:10
The good work of the woman with the alabaster box of oil was highlighted by Jesus.
And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.
Luke 7:37-38
3. You are strong because all your sins are forgiven
You cannot commit any sins that are too great for the Lord to forgive.
But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.”
Luke 13:12
4. Your encouraging spirit
You are an encourager to your family, friends and the Church.
Jesus’ mother encouraged her Son to perform His first miracle at the wedding.
And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
Mark 2:3-5
5. Your kindness
In spite of economic hardships, you are willing to give from the little that you have.
This strength was demonstrated in the story of the widow at Zarephath’s willingness to give Elijah the last morsel of food that she had in the house.
Similar to the widow, because of your generosity your bin of flour will not be used up, nor your jar of oil runs dry (1 Kings 17:8-16).
Jesus also identified the spirit of generosity in the Samaritan woman at the well.
A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”
John 4:7
6. You are a true worshipper
The Samaritan woman at the well not only thirst for the living water but she also yearn for the right place to worship.
Jesus saw the desire of her heart and taught her true worship.
Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 4:21-24
7. Your freedom from all accusations
The devil is your primary accuser but the Lord has cast him down.
Therefore, you can overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb and the power of your testimony (Revelation 12:10-11).
Jesus saved the adulterous woman from her accusers.
“When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
She said, “No one, Lord.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
John 8:10-11
8. Your perseverance
You will maintain your purpose in spite of obstacles, difficulties or discouragement.
You are “steadfast and immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)
When Mary Magdalene discovered that Jesus’ tomb was empty she went for the other disciples to search the tomb but they found no one inside.
The disciples thoroughly searched the tomb and found only the linen cloth that was used to wrap the body of Christ and the handkerchief that was around His head.
Then the disciples gave up and returned home.
However, Mary did not give up but remained crying at the tomb.
Finally, she decided to search the tomb once more.
Inside the tomb, she saw two angels sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet where Jesus had laid.
Were these angels in the tomb when the disciples searched it?
Possibly!
But they did not see them.
However, due to Mary’s persistence she saw not only the angels that had rolled the stone away to release Jesus from the tomb but she saw the risen Lord standing behind her.
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!”
John 20:15-16
Immediately, Mary recognized her Lord and Teacher.
Her persistence was rewarded.
9. Your heart of compassion
Pharoah’s daughter had compassion on the crying baby in a basket floating on the river.
She immediately adopted the child and named him Moses (Exodus 2).
The Shunammite’s woman had compassion on Elisha, the man of God, and invited him to her home for dinner every time he visited her village.
She even persuaded her husband to build a room for him to rest.
As a result of her compassion and generosity the Lord rewarded her with a son (2 Kings 4:8- 37).
10. Your heart to love – A mother’s heart
The loving heart of a woman gives her the strength to continue to nurture her children even during times of adversity.
Hence, Jesus last words to His mother was to introduce her to a new son – His closest disciple. He also told His disciple that she was his mother.
In essence, Jesus was making provision for His mother and disciple knowing that they would take care of each other.
“When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son.”
John 19:26
