How can you behold the beauty of the Lord?

One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,  to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. (Psalms 27:4) 

You must dwell in the house of the Lord every day of your life.

Let us look at the dedication ceremony of the temple of God.

The temple of the Lord God was finally finished.

King Solomon arranged that all the furnishings were placed inside the temple in a particular order according to the directions of the Lord.

The last piece of equipment to be placed in the temple was the Ark of the Covenant, the place where God would dwell.

No doubt this moment was special and required much preparation.

It was going to be a huge celebration.

The Ark was positioned in the inner sanctuary in the holy of holies under the wings of the cherubim.

The cherubim spread their two wings over the Ark overshadowing its entire structure.

The placement of the Ark was significant because it was a replica of the arrangement in the temple in heaven.

The wings of the cherubim overshadow the Ark of the Covenant inside the temple in heaven while the seraphim continually sing praises to God in worship and adoration (Psalms 99:1; Isaiah 6:1-2; 37:16; Revelation 4; 11:19.)

This scene around God’s throne is a spectacular sight, and the Lord wants His people to experience a similar grandeur while on earth.

Thus, on the day of the dedication of the temple, immediately after King Solomon prayed, the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and sacrifices.

The glory of the Lord also came down and filled the entire Temple so that the priest was unable to minister because of the potent splendor of the Lord.

The Israelites watched this glorious sight in amazement, and they immediately bowed down with their faces to the ground and worshiped and praised God saying,

“For He is good, for His mercy endures forever.” (2 Corinthians 7:1-3)

The great God Almighty who reigns over all the earth and university was making His dwelling place among men.

Is it possible for you to experience the literal glory of God?

The first step in achieving this magnificent miracle is to ensure that your heart becomes the spiritual Ark of the Covenant filled with the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

Your sanctified body will become God’s temple.

As you walk in obedience to the Word of God, the Lord will position you under the wings of the cherubim who will continually praise the Lord on your behalf.

The glory of the Lord will descend upon you as the angels sing praises to God and you will radiate with the beauty of the Lord.

Would you like to experience the beauty of the Lord?

Pray the following prayer, which is taken from King Solomon’s prayer in 1 Kings 8:22-53.

It is a powerful prayer to usher you into the presence of God.

Our most righteous and Holy Father,

You are the only true and living God and there is no one in heaven or on earth like you.

We thank you that your mercy is everlasting and you never forsake your covenant.

Lord, thank you that you chose to leave the luxury of your heavenly home to dwell among common men.

Lord, we want to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to you Holy and acceptable unto you.

Lord, we pray that your eyes will be continually opened toward our sanctified body which we offer to you.

You said, “My name shall be there.”

So hear our humble prayers and if there are any hidden sins in our lives we ask that you forgive us.

We pray that you will avenge us speedily against the wicked one and be a wall of protection around us.

If we have sinned and the enemy invades our lives when we lift up our hands and bowed our knees in repentance hear our cry from our temples and forgive us.

“When the heavens are shut up, and there is no rain because we have sinned against You;

When there is famine in the land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers;

when their enemy besieges us in the land of our cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is.

When we pray toward this place and confess Your name, and turn from our sins because of our afflictions, please hear our prayers and forgive.

“Whatever prayers, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by all Your people, when each one knows the plague of his own heart and spreads out his hands toward this temple: then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and act, and give to every one according to all his ways, whose heart You know (for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men).”

Teach us the good way that we should walk. Send the early and the latter rain on our land that you have given to us as an inheritance.

Lord, w pray that Your eyes will be opened to the supplication of Your servant and the supplication of Your people.

We pray that you will listen to us whenever we call on your name.

For you have separated us from among all the peoples of the earth to be Your inheritance through the Lord Jesus Christ.

You have called us to be the chosen generation, a royal priesthood,  a holy nation.

Hear our prayers 🙏 and answer us. In Jesus’ name, Amen
