Today, I have decided to postpone my usual Fun Friday post to pause and take some time to pray for the people of Ukraine.

During these turbulent times of war, the people who suffered the most are women, children, the elderly, disabled, the poor, and the helpless.

The politicians and heads of countries who made the decision to go to war do not suffer because they are surrounded by their armored palaces and thousands of security guards.

Therefore, the victims of Ukraine who are displaced from their homes and seeking refuge need our sincere prayers.

When we see these atrocious things happening in the world, we are reminded that Jesus tells us in Matthew 24 that we must not fear or be troubled because all those things must come to pass, but it is not yet the end.

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24:6-8 NKJV)

The evidence of wars is just the beginning of sorrows.

Wars have been around for many centuries but the end has not come as yet. This means that there is still hope and we will not all be consumed at once.

When one country is going through its struggles there will be many other countries that are at peace who will be able to support the victims of war.

One thing that we all can do is to pray. Prayer is our most powerful weapon to cease the onslaught of the enemy.

Let us pray

Our great and mighty God, we come before you in all humility and sincerity because you said that you will hear the broken and contrite hearts of your people. So Lord we put before you the people of Ukraine who are going through this tragic situation.

Tens of thousands of people are fleeing their homes and trying to seek refuge from neighboring countries. Lord, we ask that you soften the hearts of these countries to accept the people and help them in their time of need. Lord, we ask that you let your presence be felt among the refugees to let them know that you are with them and you will provide for them.

Lord, we pray that you will protect the feeble and helpless, the pregnant mothers and mothers with children and babies because the turmoil is difficult for them to bear.

Lord, we put the leaders who are making these terrible decisions to war with other nations before you Lord. We ask that you break their pride and power and that they submit to your will and purpose.

We know that you are the Great and Mighty God and Your Word is like a rod of iron that can break the enemy and dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel (Psalms 2:9).

Your Word states that “The mountains will bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness. He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy, and will break in pieces the oppressor.” (Psalms 72:3-4)

We declare that Your Word will manifest in the midst of Russia, Ukraine, and every war-torn country in this world. We declare that Your Word will bring peace and comfort in the lives of victims of war. Your Word must come to pass and it will not return to You void.

Therefore, we will BE STILL and know that You are God; You will be exalted among the nations, You will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge (Psalms 26:10-11 NKJV)

Continue to pray for the nations and those who are suffering.
