This is fantastic information Beverley. I enjoyed reading every bit. If I were to pursue a career or a sideline in writing, these 25 tips would be my guide. However I’m not consistent with follow through with reading (of books) or writing.

“Which one of these writing tools resonates with you?”

I most resonate with #22, a ferocious editor. When I take time to read an article, blogs or comments, I see peoples writing errors which stand out like a sore thumb. I would like to do that if it were possible. I constantly edit my own comments to make sure my words are spelled correctly, my grammer is in alignment with my sentence structure, etc. I’m my own worst critic I mean editor. Good grief. 😊

    1. Being your best editor is indeed important. I edit my post at least ten times and still when I return a week later there is something that needs changing. I hope that you will be able to find the time to write because you are a great writer and poet. 🙂. Have a blessed weekend.

  5. Really all of them resonates with me. #9 is the hardest part for me, I often feel like I need to explain in depth which as you said probably means I don’t give my reader credit. Learning to be okay with omitting parts of my writing is definitely something I have to work on.

    1. I find that difficult also. Sometimes it is hard to delete a part of your writing that you love but not necessarily good for your readers. Thanks for reading and sharing.

  9. Thanks very much Beverley for sharing this useful post. I suppose we all get into bad habits and part of becoming a good writer is to recognise and eliminate them. Being a ferocious self-editor is the one that resonates with me. However, I need to learn when enough is enough! 🙂
