Weakness is defined as a lack of physical strength; a special likeness or something difficult to resist.
As human beings, our strength will be depleted when we overwork our bodies.
Hence, God mandated that we follow His example and reserve the seventh day to rest and refresh.
Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel forever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed. (Exodus 31:16-17)
However, there is another type of weakness that is more emotional.
A person may have uncontrollable anger or maybe addicted to drugs. These are serious forms of weaknesses that are too shameful to admit and will require intensive therapy and prayer to overcome.
But there is another type of weakness that most people consider harmless and seem to enjoy admitting to them.
For example, most of us are guilty of saying at least one of the following phrases:
I have a sweet tooth!
I am a night owl!
I am a couch potato!
I am a shopaholic!
Though these phrases tend to roll off our lips easily, they may result in harmful effects on our bodies such as diabetes, insomnia, depression, poverty.
Irrespective of the nature of your weakness, don’t celebrate them just give them to the Lord.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (Isaiah 41:10)
The Lord Jesus Christ has experienced every weakness and temptation common to man and He has overcome them.
Therefore, God is faithful, and will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able, but will with the temptation make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it (1 Corinthians 10:13).
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Philippians 4:13)
