What An Inheritance!

Last night as I was reading through the posts of my fellow bloggers I was tremendously blessed by the following verse published by Beholding Him ministry – Born again to a living hope.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter 1:3-5)

After reading this scripture verse the only thing I could say is “What an inheritance!”

Humans on this earth are fighting over land, money, cars, houses, all the things that can perish.

At the puff of a mighty wind, all earthly treasures are gone in one day.

But, God has given us an imperishable inheritance through the Lord Jesus Christ.

An inheritance that is incorruptible.

This means that our inheritance cannot be perverted or bribed by money or otherwise.

It cannot be dissolved, disintegrated or decayed.

Our inheritance cannot be decomposed.

Our inheritance is honest and just because we serve a just God who is pure and righteous in all His ways.

God has given us an inheritance that is undefiled.

This means that it cannot be corrupted or polluted by anyone, not even the devil himself.

It is an inheritance that will never fade away.

This inheritance will last forever because it is preserved in heaven where neither moth nor rust cannot enter and where the devil cannot tread.

What an inheritance!

    • It is indeed sad that as Christians we do not appreciate our inheritance. Instead, some have join the world to chase after material things. I pray that this year our eyes will be opened to all that God has in store for us. Thanks, Barb, for sharing your thoughts. Your encouragements are always appreciated.

    • Oh yes! It is exciting. As I read this verse again my heart bubbles over with zeal and excitement. Only what is done fir Christ will last.

The last hurricane in the BVI brought this home in full force. In just a few hours at the puff of a mighty wind, years of accumulated wealth just blew out in the sea. Alas, many people here quickly forgets and return to their old ways. They believe after a disaster it is an opportunity to build bigger and better and they have gone full speed ahead.

Yes we must rebuild the physical structures but our relationship with God is far more important. Thank you once again Dawn for agreeing and confirming. Praise God!
