Be Careful Of The Words That You Speak

Some people like to swear and curse.

Some people like to joke around and speak lies.

Others like to speak aloud about their fears.

But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words, thou shalt be condemned. (Matthew 12:36-37)

Every negative and idle word that you speak becomes a curse to hinder your blessings.

And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who complained against Me? I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make against Me. Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the Lord, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you. (Numbers 14:27-28)

The words of the Lord are alive and still effective.

Therefore,

Speak words of love and comfort.

Speak words of wisdom and knowledge.

Speak words of blessing.

Speak only good words to edify and uplift.

Speak only words of life in the presence of God and He will grant you the words that you speak.

  1. The word of God tells us that the tongue has power. We can use our tongue to speak life or death. Yet, the Bible says that the tongue is the most difficult thing to control. But through the help and power of the Holy Spirit we can have power and control over our tongue.

    • Percisely! It is only with the help of the Holy Spirit that we can control our tongue. We have to submit all our thoughts and imaginations to the obedience of Christ. Thank you for reading and sharing.
