Build On A Sure Foundation

Foundation

Now all the work of Solomon was well-ordered from the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was completed. (2 Chronicles 8:16)

King Solomon was commissioned by God to build His Temple.

Solmon’s father, David, left all the plans and material for him to build the Temple of God, which he accomplished (1Kings 6).

The king also built his palace and many other cities in Israel.

Solomon was well organized in his work from the beginning of the foundation until his work was completed.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. (Isaiah28:16)

Isaiah prophesied that God Himself will lay in Zion a foundation made of precious tried stone.

This foundation is the Lord Jesus Christ who became tha last Passover Lamb to redeem humanity from sin once for all.

It was the final atonement that canceled sin.

Hallelulajah!

Our prayer this morning is to ask God to help us build our foundation on the solid rock of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer is taken from Luke 6:46-49 – Day ten of our fourteen days of prayer.

Let us pray

Our heavenly Father, we thank you that you have prepared the solid foundation of Zion for us.

We thank you that you have given us your Word.

Lord, help us that we can be obedient to your Word so that our foundation will be anchored on solid rock.

Any other foundation is sinking sand that will crumble.

We want to be secured so that when the storms of life beat against our houses we know that they will not be destroyed.

Lord, we continue to honor and praise you for you are worthy.

Your foundation stands sure and you sealed us as your children.

These things we asked in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen!

A new year and a new decade is approaching.

It is a new season of the Lord.

Therefore, let us remain in His presence to ensure our foundation is firmly built.

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. (1 Corinthians 3:12-17)
