  1. Ultimately it’s not our faith itself that grants us success, but the object of our faith, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is victorious over death. In Him, we have the victory too, whatever life may throw at us. Telling myself I’m going to have a private jet doesn’t mean to say I necessarily will. But godliness with contentment is great gain 🙂

    1. Amen. We cannot talk our way to success. It all depends on the will and purpose of God. Thank you for sharing your thoughts my brother. It is well received.

  2. Having a life lined up with the word of God is the most positive start. Joshua was told by God that the book of the law shall not depart from his mouth nut thou shalt meditate therein day and night that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success. This means we must apply the word of God. Being confident by applying faith is important to success. Our attitude can also indicate our character.

    1. Indeed, ensuring that your life lined up with the Word of God will definitely guarantee success. The secular world teaches that success comes when you are confident in yourself. But, we know that God gives us life, strength and His Word to gain success.

      1. So true, Whose report do you believe, We do believe in the report of the Lord and have no confidence in the flesh. Our confidence is in Jesus Christ because in him we move and have our being.

  3. Jesus has led me to be in the ministry and work I have today. If someone had asked me if I would have a ministry for refugees and immigrants 25 years ago when I was sick and dying, I would have thought they were crazy, but Jesus does wonderful things. 🙂

  5. My spouse recently decided we should start praying on our knees so our little one knows it is also a posture we can take in prayer. It is definitely a position of reverence. In the Yoruba culture, women go on their knees as a sign of deep honor for anyone standing before them.

    1. Wow! That is deep. When my heart is overwhelmed I go on my knees or on my belly and pour out my heart before the Lord. When I get up i feel comforted that He hears me and then I go to sleep. Continue to teach your child about the power of prayer. You are doing a great job. Blessings to you.

  7. Amen. True success comes from accepting Jesus into our hearts, obeying His Word, and letting His Spirit guide us. Joshua 1:8 NIV, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

I like how you mentioned communication. Nowadays most communication is electronic. So asking God for wisdom in our speech is important. It’s easy for us to mentally create a tone of voice when reading text, emails, comments etc. Many relationships have been ruined because of electronic communication. It’s a blessing but can quickly become a curse if not handled with godly wisdom. Thanks Beverley!

    1. Hi Dawn, you shared a vital point about communication. Lack of communication has led to many failed marriage. I know for sure that it caused my failed marriage. This digital generation is facing a huge problem. They need our prayers and support. Thanks for the verse in Joshua. It is a great addition to this post. God bless you.
