Sustaining Life

Most of us are curious to know the meaning of life and the purpose for which we were born.

Sadly, some people don’t know their purpose for which they were created and may even lost hope in life.

Life is what distinguished humans, animals and plants from inanimate objects created by the hands of man.

In Him (Christ) was life; and the life was the light of men (humans). (John1:4)

The words which comes from the mouth of God are spirits and life (John 6:63).

Thus, when the Lord God spoke the universe into existence, everything that manifested comes alive.

God said, “Let their be light!” and there was light. (Genesis 1:3)

This light was the manifested glory of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Indeed, Jesus later told us that He is the light of the world (John 8:12).

As we delved deeper into the book of Genesis chapter 1, we learned that the Lord spoke into existence the firmament with the sun, moon, stars and other planets; the waters; the dry land with all its plants, trees and herbs.

The Lord God also created every creature in the sea, the flying creatures in the air and every beasts on the earth by calling them forth into existence.

All of these things that God spoke into existence are alive.

Indeed, scientists are now discovering that the entire universe is expanding and there are millions of galaxies and stars that their most powerful telescopes cannot visualize.

Whatever God created is alive!

You maybe saying that the rocks are inanimate objects.

But, I beg to differ because Jesus told the Pharisees that if His disciples who praised Him while He was descending mount Olives to Jerusalem, ceased to do so then the stones will immediately cry out (Luke 19:35-40).

Thus, there is embedded life in these rocks even though we may not be able to identify it with our limited eye sight.

I said all of the above to show you that life is a precious gift from God.

You are placed high above all of God’s living creation.

Therefore, You have a specific purpose in this world. You exist because God has a special plan for you.

The Lord thought about you and decided who you will be even before He created you in your mother’s womb.

The thoughts of God for you are not to harm you. He did not create you to destroy you or to throw you into hell.

God’s plan for you is to let you live a peaceful and abundant life on earth. A life that is filled with hope so that you will have a bright future (Jeremiah 29:11)

This hope is found in the Lord Jesus Christ who removed the curse from your life so that you will know and walk in your purpose (Hebrews 6:19-20).

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
