God created man in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-28).

Does this mean that God has the same features as us humans?

Does God have a face like humans? Is He handsome or ugly?

His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like torches of fire, his arms and feet like burnished bronze in color, and the sound of his words like the voice of a multitude (Daniel 10:6)

He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. (Revelation 1:16)

Does God have hair like us? What are the color and texture?

“I watched till thrones were put in place, and the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool.
His throne was a fiery flame, it’s wheels a burning fire. (Daniel 7:9)

His head and hairwere white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire. (Revelation 1:13)

 

What is the color of God’s eyes?

And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, ‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass. (Revelation 2:18)

 

Does God have hands and feet like humans?

His feet were like fine brass as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters. (Revelation 1:15)

Does God wear clothes like us or is He naked as the sinless Adam and Eve?

“I watched till thrones were put in place, and the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow. (Daniel 7:9)

 I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, a certain man clothed in linen, whose waist was girded with gold of Uphaz! (Daniel 10:5)

And in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. (Revelation 1:13)

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. (Isaiah 6:1)

Yes, The Creator and humans bear the same physical form. But, the image and likeness of God extend even further than the physical form.

For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. (Colossians 2:9)

Man is made up of body, spirit, and soul. God consists of Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

According to Genesis 2, God created the body of the man from the dust of the earth thus instilling in man the power to invent, create, replenish or reproduce and to control of the earth as long as his body is alive on this planet.

Then, God blew into man’s nostril His Holy Spirit which flows in his bloodstream, and man became a living soul.

The soul is your mind, your intellect, and your will. The original soul of a sinless Adam represented the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

God, in His infinite wisdom, knew that man would choose death instead of life in the Garden of Eden so He placed a representation of His Son in man’s being.

Therefore, only the Son of God can cleanse our sinful soul, purify our tainted blood and resurrect our dead spirit with His Holy Spirit.

It is indeed a new birth my friend! A new birth in God’s image and likeness.

And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it.  Also from the appearance of His waist and upward, I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. (Ezekiel 1:26-28)
