Many people believe that since we are all created by God, then we all are sons or children of God. Is this really true?

A son or daughter is born into a family and lives in a home provided by the parents. The family enjoys a close relationship with each other.

Let us identify the individuals who are created by God who dwells in His Holy Tabernacle on earth and in heaven and who meets with Him regularly.

The tabernacle of Moses had a meeting place outside the veil. The lamp burned continually in this area. The priests ensured that it never become extinguish. (Exodus 27).

In this place, Aaron and his sons were cleansed, anointed and offered sacrifices of consecration (Exodus 29).

God also meet with His heavenly hosts in heaven. He performs the same functions as above. It was during one of these meetings that Satan presented himself (Job 2:1).

 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. (Job 1:6)

In heaven, the sons of God are divided into different ranks and titles, for example, there are cherubim, seraphim, archangels, angels, and watchers.

Some of these heavenly beings were given names such as Michael, Gabriel, Lucifer. These celestial beings did not consist of angels alone.

Thus, when Ezekiel and John saw some of these beings with four different heads, they called them living creatures (Ezekiel 1; Revelation 4).

Similarly, when God created the earth, He created living creatures in the land which include mankind with Adam being the first fruit and represent the father of humanity, so all humans are descendants of Adam.

We are sons (children) of Adam who were born in sin. As sinners, we became alienated from God and became strangers. However, the Lord made restitution for our sins through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ.

For through Him, we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:18-20)

In view of this, sons of God also refer to humans who are redeemed from sins through the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:14).

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” (Galatians 3:26; 4:6)

After death, Christians in heaven are equal to angels and are sons of God (Matthew 20:34-36). This passage also clearly indicate that the angels are also sons of God.

The peacemakers and those who follow the spirit of God are also called the sons of God (Matthew 5:9; Romans 8:14).

When the Bible mentioned sons of God, it is either referring to the heavenly beings or humans who follow the principles and teachings of God. It all depends on the context.

Therefore, the children of Seth who followed the Lord were also called the sons of God.

Thus, the prophetic word in Genesis 6:2 which stated that Giants were on the land and the sons of God married the daughters of men was declaring the events that had taken place in the past, the events that were occurring in the present and the things that will happen in the future.

The word of God transcends throughout all space and time!

The sons of God – the heavenly beings – at some point in time copulated with women and produced mighty men who were famous. The word mighty means massive, enormous so it could also mean that these offspring were giants who dominate the land.

These heavenly beings (sons of God) which include angels did not keep their proper domain but left their own abode and sin. So, God punished them by sending them to hell (2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6-7).

Jude compared these sinful angels to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah who were given over to sexual immoralities and going after strange flesh. They suffered the vengeance of eternal fire.

The other situation that was also taking place during that time was that the children of Seth were also intermarrying with the children of Cain who bore the mark of sin.

The earth had become completely corrupted with every form of atrocities beyond our imagination. The earth had to be cleansed.

Note also that the prophetic word also includes the future so our civilization has reverted back to the days of Noah where humans are cohabiting with demonic entities and committing all manner of sexual immoralities and perversions (2 Timothy 3:1-9).

The earth has become corrupted again, and the Lord is about to cleanse it once more.

When more than one theories or doctrines are presented in the body of Christ we do not have to war with each other.

We simply put all of them together, examine the scriptures, then place God’s words in the context of who He is – the Almighty, powerful, victorious, merciful and forgiving God. It all depends on how you see God.

It is then that you will grasp the true understanding of His word.

In God, there is no confusion, division or fear.

The bottom line is that when we become children (sons) of God, we will live in His holy place where He will reveal His word to us.
