Do you see God as a man?

Or do you see Jesus as the meek and mild baby? Yes? Only during the Christmas season?

How do you see God? Think about it carefully!

Do you see Him as your personal ‘obeahman’ or ‘witch doctor’ to cast spells and curses on your enemies?

Do you view Jehovah God as a bank?

How about the single ladies, do you see Jesus as your boyfriend or husband?

The way in which we see the Lord will affect our maturity as Christians.

As humans, we tend to define God base on our own standard and understanding. We sometimes enclosed Him in a box and tell Him what He can or cannot do.

We need to be careful because God is far above our level. Everything that He created is also far superior and more advanced than we can ever think or imagine.

Therefore, when the Lord created the heavens, He created a spiritual world or kingdom which is way beyond the structure of our physical world.

He tried to give us an understanding of the structure of His kingdom in heaven by creating a physical kingdom on earth in the Garden of Eden.

The supremacy of God’s kingdom

When Christ was on earth, He taught us about the Kingdom of God. He said that it was like a mustard seed which may appear insignificant but when it is planted will grow to be one of the largest trees that become a nesting place for the birds (Mark 4:30-32).

The kingdom of God is not meat or drink but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).

The kingdom of God in heaven has a tabernacle, and God instructed Moses to build one on earth for His dwelling place (Exodus 25 &26; Revelation 15:5).

Inside the tabernacle was the holy place where the cherubim overshadowed the Ark of the Covenant. On top of the Ark is the mercy seat where God communicated with Moses or the High Priest.

We see a similar arrangement in Ezekiel’s visions when he saw the Lord sitting on His throne with cherubim (living creatures) bearing up the throne of God. (Ezekiel 1;10)

Isaiah also saw a vision of God, high and lifted, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Around His throne were seraphim with six wings who worshiped Him constantly crying,

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.” (Isaiah 6:1-7)

The splendor of these scenes cannot be compared with anything on earth yet these prophets had to use terrestrial words to describe them. Thus, we have to let the Holy Spirit replicates these scenes for us to understand them.

The wheels in Ezekiel’s vision are not actually similar to those on earth, neither are the wings of the angels necessarily the same as a bird’s wings with feathers.

The spoken words of God are also more superior to ours. In fact, they are spirits and life so when He speaks they immediately rush to perform and will not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:10-11; John 6:63)

The entire Bible contains the prophetic word of God which is given to us in parables to hide the spiritual meaning from the ungodly (Matthew 13:10-17).

The prophetic word in the Bible transcends through different, space, time and realm. In other words, it encompasses the past, present, future and beyond when Christ returns.

Only the Holy Spirit of God can reveal the meaning of His word (Ephesians 1:17-18).

When you read the Bible, visualize God’s word moving like a mighty army in the atmosphere conquering, healing, delivering and accomplishing His command.

When you pray or think about God, visualize Him as a powerful energetic force far greater and mightier than the universe.

Then visualize Him like a merciful cloud which will envelop your heart, body, and soul and speak to you from your heart as a gentle whisper.

See God in all  His majesty and glory.
