“Peace, Be Still!”

And the wind ceased and there was a great calm!

“Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

Even the wind and the sea obey Him! (Mark 4:39-40)

For the past three months, the Lord has impressed upon my heart to focus on prayer on this blog. So during the months of July and August we prayed for our youths that God would deliver them from the traps of the enemy.

girl-67694_640Prayer also continued for the entire month of September for our children where the Daily Thanksgiving devotions declared powerful prophetic words over their lives.

The Lord declared that our children are the apple of His eyes and He is always watching over them. The Lord is a provider and a protector to our children. He will redeem them from violence and oppression and will make their enemies lick the dust.

The Lord has an inheritance for all our children, and as parents, we need to teach them how to take charge of their destiny. The Lord hold them in His right hand and will even spread a table in the wilderness for them.

God never changes and whatever He promised, rest assured that they will come to pass.

Let us teach our children how to count their blessings so that they do not take things for granted but are always grateful to God. Even when they are rebellious against authority, the Lord will snatch them from the shadow of death and lead them back to the right path.

The Lord will calm the storms when they erupted in our lives, and He will send His word to deliver us.children-486980_640

Prayer is a vital part of our lives as Christians, especially during these trying times. Therefore, we will be praying for the mature and the elderly adults during the month of October. Our prayers, as usual, will be taken directly from the word of God.

The prophets, apostles and the mighty kings of the Bible such as Hannah, King David, King Solomon, King Hezekiah, Nehemiah, Jeremiah and Daniel recorded some powerful prayers that they poured out to God in times of distress and triumphs.

When we studied these prayers, we noticed how quickly the Lord answered. The Lord will do the same for us when we pray sincerely from a clean heart.

As I wrote this post we are in earnest prayer for Jamaica (my homeland), eastern Cuba and especially Haiti that Hurricane Matthew has threatened. It is currently a category 4 hurricane moving towards these three islands.

We pray that God will weaken and divert the storm and He will protect the children, the elderly, the homeless and everyone from the ravages of the hurricane. May God have mercy upon us all. Amen.
