Are you stuck in a situation where it seems as if you cannot get out? Are you tired of wandering around in a circle where there seem to be no end to the cycle of trials?

If you answer yes to the above questions then it is time to examine yourself.

You may be stuck in the same position because you are stuck in your ways.

You may be doing the same things over and over again. You hold fast to your opinions without wavering.

You are meticulous and ritualistic and everything must be done according to your way.

If you have been described in such a manner by your spouse or your friend then it is full time that you take some time to self reflect and search your heart.

Be sincere and open your mind and heart because the Lord may be trying to get your attention for a while.

It is full time that you change your old habit and try it God’s way.

You will find it rewarding!

The children of Israel were stuck in their familiar lifestyle of sin and refused to repent and change their ways.

The Lord repeatedly sent His prophets to beg them to repent but they stubbornly continued down their destructive path.

“I have stretched out my hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, according to their own thoughts; a people who provoke me continually to my face (Isaiah 65:2-3)

The abominable practices of the Israelites that inflame the wrath of God

These sins are also practice in our society.

• Unholy sacrifices or insincere worship

• Witchcraft and sorcery

• Those who feed on things contrary to the Word of God

• Hypocrisy – those who believe that they are more holier than others (Isaiah 65: 3-5).

These practices will cause stagnation in your life. It is hard to grow spiritually when you refuse to relinquish the old habits of the flesh.

It is time to make a switch!

Practices that will unplug you from miry clay

• Love without hypocrisy. Be affectionate to each other with brotherly love.

• Be humble and be of the same mind one towards each other. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

• Pray together and encourage each other. Rejoice with each other and weep with those who weep.

• Give to the needy and feed your enemy.

• Bless those who persecute you and do not curse them.

• Live peaceable with all men. Do not take vengeance leave it to the Lord.

• Do not repay evil with evil but repay it with good.

• Abhor those things which are evil and cling to good

• Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:9-21)

As we get older we like to stick to our familiar habits and sometimes it is difficult to change but we have to learn to trust God and allow Him to lead and direct us.
