Our teenagers and young adults have high hopes and big dreams. They have a passion for making a difference in the world. They want peace for our nations, and they wish to end poverty thus bringing prosperity to all people.

They want to accomplish these missions by serving us in various professional careers such as medical doctors, scientists, pilots, astronauts, teachers, lawyers, engineers, captains, leaders, managers, etc.

My daughter has a passion for color and fashion. She loves to draw, design and write stories. Her greatest desire is to become a Fashion Designer.

At first, I was against her choice thinking that it was too frivolous and risky, so she needed to choose something more grounded such as architecture.

She decided to please me by pursuing an Associate Degree in Architecture at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College in the BVI. She is doing well in school, but that is not her passion.

The Lord told me that I should allow my daughter to make her own choice and pursue her dreams.

She identified a college in New York that she wanted to attend. It is the New York Fashion Institute of Technology and is located in the heart of Manhattan and so, of course, I became worried about her safety.

I decided to visit New York in July during our vacation to check out this college. The enemy tried to hinder our plans but God was in control, and we arrived in New York on Friday, July 18, 2014. We decided to visit the college the following Monday.

When we arrived at the college, we heard that there would be an orientation session for new students, and we were welcome to join the meeting in the lecture room. We immediately knew that God was in control, and it was not just a coincidence.

We had an informative session with one of the Administrative staff who explained to us about the college, the academic programs, and tuition fees.

Afterward, we had an extensive tour of the entire college by one of the senior students. She was very knowledgeable about the school and was very helpful and pleasant.

All the classrooms, labs, gyms, and dorms were all connected. The students did not have to leave the building to attend any classes. The school also have a cafeteria that provides meals for the students.

The security at the school was very tight, and I was very pleased with this. As a matter of fact at the end of the tour, I was feeling very comfortable and happy with this school. I knew then that my daughter had made the right choice and with hard work will accomplish her dreams.

Ever since my son was a toddler, he was fascinated with airplanes. He wants to be a Pilot, and that is his passion. Nothing or no one can change his mind not even a congenital heart disease.

I tried to explain gently to him that he might not be accepted in flight school because of his heart condition, but he ignored my precaution and continued to hold on to his dreams.

He researched every airport in the world, and he knows every plane that flies in the sky.

I went to the Lord for answers, and He gave me a simple instruction. He told me to anoint his chest every night until he is whole. I decided to obey the Lord. Is there anything too hard for the Lord?

My children dreams are big, and my bank book is empty so how can they achieve their goals?

Once more I returned to God in prayer because He is the Creator of all things and nothing is impossible for Him. I am merely waiting in God’s presence because I know that He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus our Lord (Philippians 4:19).

Let us unite together to pray for our children so that they can achieve their dreams. We also need to collaborate to help them obtain scholarships and financial assistance to meet their goals.

They are our future, and when we are old, they are the people whom we will see in the hospitals, airports, schools and various business places. Therefore, when we help them now, they will be able to look after us better in the future.

Let us glorify God by supporting our children physically and spiritually.
