Where will you be in the next ten or twenty years? Do you know what you want to be or what college you wish to attend? Are you unsure of your destiny or are you certain of who you are or where you want to be?

Maybe you are unsure of who you are. Perhaps you were told who you should be by your parents or peers. The person who you want to be may not be who you were called to be. It is important to know who you are in God so that no one dictates to you your destiny.

God has already designed a purpose for your life. God placed a gift or talent within you during conception, and it will determine your future.

1 Corinthians 12 states that the Holy Spirit distributes gifts to each of us, and their purpose is to strengthen and unify us.

These spiritual gifts are Wisdom, Knowledge, faith, healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits and interpretation and speaking in tongues.

The spiritual gifts can also be translated into physical professions. The gifts of the Holy Spirit complement the job that God has planned for you while living on earth. For example:

1. The gift of Wisdom – means you will be placed in a leadership position e.g. Presidents, Prime Ministers, Pastors, CEO of companies, etc.
2. The gift of Knowledge – Education e.g. Teachers, Lecturers, Professors
3. The gift of faith – Designers, Artisans, Builders, Architectures
4. The gift of healing – The health field e.g. Doctors, Nurses, and all Medical Professionals.
5. The gift of working of miracles – Pastors, Evangelists, Scientists, Physicists, Astronauts, Pilots, Engineers.
6. The gift of prophecy – Artists, Prophets of God, Writers.
7. The gift of discerning of spirits – Writers, Journalist, Media Broadcasters, Psychologists.
8. The gift of interpretation and speaking in tongues – Languages e.g. Interpreters, Ambassadors, Foreign Affair Officers or Ministers.

Your first awareness of your spiritual gifts begins with your hobbies or the things that you enjoy doing. For example, if you love to read and write then you are more inclined to be a Writer or a Journalist and your spiritual gifts are prophecy and discerning of spirits.

Discerning of spirit means that you are more sensitive to other people’s emotions or feelings. If you love to fix things you will be interested in becoming a scientist or engineer, and you have the gift of knowledge and or working of miracles.

Note that you can possess more than one spiritual gift.

Many people only practice their physical professions and neglect the spiritual aspect. Even though they can function successfully in their secular job, they limit their full potential.

You can discover your gift at any age, but the earlier you do is, the better for you so that you can prepare yourself adequately. A good education will prepare you for your gift.

Therefore, try to remain in school and focus on your lesson. A successful secondary school will guarantee a university education in the field that you love.

Remember both your physical professions and your spiritual gifts should work together so that you will have a more fulfilled and prosperous life.

When you are living the full potential that God planned for your life, you will achieve tremendous success and happiness because you will be walking in your divine destiny.

Do not neglect the gift that is within you; stir up the gifts; search for them and pray that God will reveal them to you. It is only then that you will know where you are going.
