My Heart Will Not Faint

I was watching the news about the war in Ukraine and when I saw the destruction of the buildings and infrastructures in the country, my heart groaned in pain and sorrow.

A country takes years to build a city but it takes one day for another country to rip it apart.

When will these atrocities end? Is there an end to the wars on this earth?

Then I began to pray.

Lord, I believe you need to return for your earth because men have forgotten that:

The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters. (Psalms 24:1-2 NKJV)

You, Lord, gave the earth to man to have dominion (control) over its resources but instead of taking care of this precious gift – earth, man is destroying it.

Men on earth are allowing the devil to use them to demolish your creation but will you allow this to happen, Lord?

Will you allow a man who is dust in your eyes to destroy your earth?

What do you think? Please leave your comments below.

While we are watching and praying, I want to encourage you to stay connected on the vine to prevent you from fainting with fear.

How can you stay connected?

  • Be steadfast in faith

Lord help us to be sober and to think soberly. Teach us to resist the demons of drugs, alcohol, and money. Help us to be steadfast in our faith.

Holy Father, let your glory be perfected in us. Establish, strengthen and settle us in your love. To you be the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 5:8-11 NKJV)

  • Pursue peace

pursue peace

Holy Father, raise our drooping hands, strengthen our weak knees, destroy every root of bitterness and resentment in our hearts, and lead us on a straight path of peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

For wrath kills a foolish man, and envy slays a simple one. (Job 5:2 NKJV)

  • Be confident in God

your confidence

Put your full confidence and trust in the living God and He will sustain you.

Remember, God will not allow the righteous soul to be moved or to famish, but He will cast away the desire of the wicked (Proverbs 10:3; Psalms 55:22).

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes. (Psalms 118:8-9 NKJV)

Additional readings: Proverbs 14:26-27; Isaiah 30:15-17; Ephesians 3:11-13; 1 John 3:18-23; 1 John 5:14

  • Allow the Lord to revive you

Listening to and watching the horrific things on the news will drive you into a deep depression.

Therefore, meditate on the Word of God and allow His presence to pull you out of the darkness of depression and into His shining light.

Anxiety in the heart

Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad. (Proverbs 12:25 NKJV)

The main reason why God has not blown away the chaff (wicked) is because He is merciful and long-suffering and it is not His will that all should perish.

The Lord is merciful

For the Lord your God is a merciful God, He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them. (Deuteronomy 4:31 NKJV)

Additional Reading: 2 Samuel 22:24-28; Psalms 103:8-10; Joel 2:12-13

Pray the following prayer to relieve depression

Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, and in Your righteousness.  Do not enter into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight no one living is righteous.

For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness, like those who have long been dead. Therefore, my spirit is overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is distressed.

I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands. I spread out my hands to You; my soul longs for You like a thirsty land. Selah Answer me speedily, O Lord; my spirit fails! Do not hide Your face from me, lest I am like those who go down into the pit.

Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You. Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies; in You I take shelter. Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.

Revive me, O Lord, for Your name’s sake! For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble. In Your mercy cut off my enemies, and destroy all those who afflict my soul; for I am Your servant. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Psalms 143 NKJV)

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. (Psalms 27:13)

Peace! Be still!

  1. Thank you, Beverley. When I watch the news, I cry, my heart breaks, and I am afraid. But when I praise the Lord, and pray to Him, and read His word, I am strengthened and restored to peace.

  2. Sadly, I think this is God’s will… Let me explain… If I read the Bible correctly, I believe it is going to get worse and worse, not better and better. In a world that is fallen because of sin, men are capable of the worst atrocities. What I believe we may seeing now are the birth pangs of the end. I admit I may be wrong, but I believe that what we are seeing is part of the setup for the coming Antichrist, and the return of Jesus Christ… Don’t get me wrong… NO MAN knows the day or the hour, but we can look at things that are happening and discern the signs of the times.
We MUST remain faithful!! We MUST share the Gospel with a lost world! We MUST be a light and witness in these dark days! Many are looking for REAL hope! We believers HAVE IT!!! It is the Church’s time to SHINE!!! God will keep us!! And He will USE us if we are willing!

  4. This was all so so good! I have heard that Ukraine has the largest population of Christians……I am sure their faith is sustaining them. It feels so helpless watching this evil destruction…….thank you for this encouragement. GOD delays HIS judgement on evil for the perfect time. Evil men will one day answer before HIM!

    • Thank you my dear for your encouraging words. I pray that this war will end in the Ukraine. It is difficult for the people because they are the ones who are suffering. Evil will definitely slay the wicked. We will continue to pray 🙏 🤲
