Follow the Cloud and Fire
During the Israelites sojourn in the wilderness, the physical presence of the Lord was always with them.
He guided them in all of their decisions and protected them from the enemies.
The Lord wants to extend the same courtesy to you.
When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and purged the blood of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning, then the Lord will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and above her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night.
For over all the glory there will be a covering. And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and rain. (Isaiah 4: 4-6 NKJV)
The Lord will defend you against the enemy
During the day the Lord led the Israelites by a cloud as they moved from one camp to the next in the wilderness.
This cloud acts as a cover to shade the people from the scorching sun in the wilderness and it also acts as a shield or protection against the enemy.
Evidence of this was seen after the children of Israel departed from Egypt and reached the red sea.
Pharaoh’s army followed and overtook them at the red sea.
The people were trapped between the sea and the threatening soldiers and they cried out fearfully to God.
The presence of the Lord in the cloud went behind the Israelites in front of the Egyptian’s army to shield them.
On the soldiers’ side, the cloud appeared as darkness. The Egyptians were too terrified to enter the darkness.
I can bet they remembered the three days of darkness, which was literally hell on earth, that they went through when God sent the plague of darkness on them.
On the Israelites’ side, the cloud was like shining light both day and night. Thus, the Lord gave His people time to walk across the sea on dry land (Exodus 14:20).
What a marvelous God!
Also, during the night when the people journeyed in the wilderness the Lord led them by a pillar of fire.
God’s presence was constantly with His people.
The enemy cannot survive in His presence.
The Lord stands up to plead and stands to judge the people. The Lord will enter into judgment with the elders of His people and His princes: “For you have eaten up the vineyard; the plunder of the poor is in your houses. What do you mean by crushing My people and grinding the faces of the poor?” Says the Lord God of hosts. (Isaiah 3:13-15 NKJV)
Therefore, hold your peace the Lord will fight for you! (Exodus 14:14)
I’m so glad that we have the Holy Spirit to guide us like the ☁️ & 🔥that accompanied the Israelites for 40 years.

I think the Holy Spirit is way better, I mean He deals with each one of us personally and uniquely. So He even helps out with personal battles

This message reminds me of a sermon that I heard at church a few weeks ago. The priest described prayer as a ‘warfare’ as we put all of our strength into praying everyday for this world to be a better place and for goodness to win over evil. I especially love the last line that you wrote when you said that God is willing to fight for us. In every battle that we face on Earth against our hardships – God is there guiding our hands as we punch the enemy.
[by the way, sorry for the late responses, for some reason, WordPress doesn’t send me your new posts even though I’ve signed up to recieve them. Thanks for reminding me about your blog by popping over to mine. Hopefully I’ll get the problem fixed as soon as possible.]

Praise the Lord that He will fight our battle.
