Who Is This Uncircumcised Philistine?

Is there not a cause to rise up?

Since the beginning of 2020, the entire world has been threatened by an uncircumcised giant looming on the horizon spewing out venomous insults that are affecting every person across the globe.

Many people are hiding in their homes terrified of going outside and becoming infected with its poison.

Those who dared to venture outside hid behind masks and distanced themselves from their loved ones and acquaintances.

Every now and then this ugly giant stepped out of his cove and bellowed,

“I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.”

As his daring challenge echoed across the globe every single person including the soldiers of God ran to take refuge in any cracks and crevices they could find.

No one dared to confront this monster.

One day a young lad came to the camp of the king’s army to bring food for his brothers.

He arrived just in time to hear the boastful words of the giant as he once more shouted his demand.

The youth became greatly concerned when he saw the soldiers scattered in fear of the enemy’s mighty roar.

The young boy decided to do the unthinkable. He will confront the giant himself.

He was not afraid!

“Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” Declared the lad.

Someone told the king the words of this brave young man and he sent for him.

But, when the king saw the young slender boy he almost collapsed with laughter.

“You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for you are but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.” Said the king.

The king himself was afraid of the philistine giant because even though he was an experienced soldier he knew that he was no match for this monster.

But the young man insisted that he wanted to fight the giant.

The king tried to help the lad by lending him his battle attire, but the young man refused to wear unproven garments.

The boy wanted to face the giant with his own weapon – a slingshot and a stone.

Most of all, he wanted to face the giant with the greatest weapon of all – the power of the living God.

The king was a seasoned warrior but he had lost the Spirit of the living God. But the young lad, David, was clad with the Spirit and glory of God.

Unbeknown to king Saul was that while David was in the field with his few sheep, he was also fighting his own enemies.

Therefore, David was also an experienced warrior from his youth just like the uncircumcised Philistine.

David’s enemies were not humans but vicious wild animals who sought to tear his sheep apart for food.

The Bible said that the thief comes to kill and destroy.

The thief is like a roaring lion seeking who he will destroy.

So David was not only fighting the literal lion and bear but also the spiritual enemy of our soul.

David was not afraid of the strength and fierceness of these animals. When they snatched a lamb from his flock he went after them.

David stated that he smote the lion and then took the lamb from between his teeth.

When the lion retaliated, David grabbed him by the beard and killed him.

Can you visualize this scenario in your mind and see the courage of this youth?

The enemy is viciously attacking our youths. He does not want to see them prosper. He does not want them to have a future.

The enemy wants to reverse the good plan that God has in store for young people by creating chaos and confusion.

This is the intention of COVID-19!

The enemy is using this pandemic to create fear and confusion to frustrate the youths so that they will give up in defeat.

This uncircumcised philistine giant is raging war across the globe to disrupt education, to create division, to destroy the economy, to facilitate the greedy, and most of all to generate fear and confusion in your heart and mind.

Therefore, we need to pray that God will strengthen the young people so that they will rise up like David and recognize the strategy of the enemy.

We need to join with our young people and declare that no uncircumcised philistine giant will defy the armies of the living God.

David recognized that it was not by his human ability that he was able to slew the lion, the bear, and ultimately the giant – Goliath, but it was the Lord who delivered him.

Likewise, the Lord will deliver you from the vicious traps of this pandemic.

How do you fight this battle?

Fear not because it is not by your strength or might but by the power of the living God.

Do not allow anyone to despise your youth because your youth is the catalyst that God will use to destroy the enemy.

Irrespective of the negative remarks and the challenging circumstances continue to persevere with the plan that God has for you and do not give up.

Because the enemy has targeted our children and young people we all have a cause to rise up against him.

Do not let anyone force you to gird yourself in battle gears that are unsuitable for you.

Instead, put on the whole armor of God because you wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The battle is the Lord’s

Know that the battle is not yours, but it is the Lord’s.

Therefore, the Lord will fight for you.

So arise!

Be not afraid!

Go!

Confront the enemy!

And the Lord will be with you!

The Lord will shake the heavens and the earth.

He will expose their hiding places and confound their deceitful plots.

The Lord will smite the enemy and deliver him into your hands

Today, this day, the hands of the Lord will work mightily on your behalf.

And, all the world will see and hear that there is a powerful God who reigns over this universe.

They will know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear,

But with power and great glory to give you the enemy’s head.

For the battle is the Lord’s.

Praise the Lord!

  1. Thank you for this post. It is so true. Many are hiding behind their masks and hiding in their homes in fear. I wear my mask but I know it is not very effective against this giant. A better hiding place is in the Lord. He is my refuge and fortress. He will deliver us from the deadly pestilence. Ps 91. But even if I should die, I will be forever with Him–no worries.

    • You are so right. The mask cannot defeat this giant. I wear in obedience to authority because it does not harm me or anyone to do this and itis not against the principles of God. Only the Lord God can give us the wisdom the slay this giant. I believe it will take the innocent wisdom of a child just like David.

  2. The enemy is definitely after the young generation. We must keep them in constant prayer. Your post reminds me of a book I read that compared the lion to the enemy and it detailed the way the lion hunts it’s prey in comparison to how the enemy hunts young people. It was very descriptive and thought provoking. Too bad I can’t remember the name of the book lol.
