Since the beginning of the 1990s, cell phones have revolutionized into smartphones.

In 2008, smart TV was invented by Samsung.

Then suddenly we have the smartwatch, smart cars, smart speakers, smart vacuum, smart grill, smart luggage, smart security camera, smart lighting, smart lock, and even smart houses.

What is smart about these devices?

Smart is now the new hype in technology. When a product is smart it means it will make life better for the individual who is using it.

It is “smart” because technology allows inanimate objects to speak to people and guide their behavior. Therefore, smart technology is a form of artificial intelligence.

IGI Global has the following definition of smart technology.

The technologies (includes physical and logical applications in all formats) that are capable to adapt automatically and modify behavior to fit the environment, senses things with technology sensors, this providing data to analyze and infer from, drawing conclusions from rules. It also is capable of learning that is using experience to improve performance, anticipating, thinking and reasoning about what to do next, with the ability to self-generate and self-sustain. Now in the year 2020, it appeared as if a new revolution in technology was birthed.

Smart Virus!

Is it possible that this novel Coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID-19 is part of the smart technology?

According to Dictionary.com, novel means a new kind; different from anything seen or known before.

This virus is indeed unique because it is very selective.

It is designed to target people older than 60, but to leave the children untouched.

It is a known fact that a person with a healthy immune system will be able to fight off disease. But we also know that children’s immune systems are not as fully developed as adults.

December 20, 2019, The World Health Organization published an article which states, Welcome to 2020 – the decade for disease elimination.

Yet, in 2020 the decade begins with a new virus that seemed to be very SMART.

The virus is not only selective it is designed to decrease in potency.

Researchers have found that the virus spread more rapidly in a colder climate than in a warmer climate.

This means, according to IGI Global’s definition of technology, the virus can modifiy its behavior to fit its environment.

Researchers also claimed that the virus can last up to twenty-eight (28) days or longer on surfaces at temperatures at 4 degrees Celcius, but in warmer temperatures, the virus does not persist after a few hours or days.

It is also my personal opinion that this virus is designed to lose its power as it transfers from one person to another.

I cannot find any data to prove this. (If you have any information on this please share in the comment box below)

However, a study on the origin and continuing evolution of SARS-CoV-2 was published in March 2020, which found that SARS-Cov-2 evolve into an L and S type.

Note that SARS-CoV-2 is the name of the virus that causes COVID-19 disease.

The L type which is the stronger version was more prevalent at the early stage of the outbreak in Wuhan in December 2019, but it decreased in January 2020 while the S type which is less aggressive has increased as the virus spread (Oxford Academic).

The above findings prove that this new virus also has the ability to self generate and self sustain.

I also noticed on the news broadcast that at the beginning of the breakout in Wuhan China, the health personnel who were handling the patients were heavily clad in protective gear.

But, as the virus spread all over the world the reports from Government and health officials are that we do not need to wear a mask just simply practiced good hygiene, wash your hands, use hand sanitizers and do not touch your face.

This information gives the impression that the virus is losing its strength.

I pray that this is a fact.

If this virus died a sudden death in the next month or so, I implore you to stay on guard, stay alert and be prepared because there may just be another smart virus on the horizon.

Technology and diseases are becoming smart in this new era, but we serve a God who is Smarter.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (1 Corinthians 1:19-20)

New research finds that the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is stable for several hours to days in aerosols and on surfaces.
