Assert Your Legal Rights

“You are mine,” says the Lord.

But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and He that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. (Isaiah 43:1-2)

As a child of God who is redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ you now belong to God.

According to dictionary.com, ownership means legal right of possession; proprietorship.

God has the legal rights to you because you were bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20).

You are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God had prepared for you to walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).

Therefore, Satan has no rights to you – body, soul and spirit.

Satan knows his limitations and will try to intimidate you with his scare tactics.

He will remind you of your past failures and make it appear as if you will never amount to anything.

He will plague your mind with fear and doubt. But, stay focus on the fact that God has selected you and called you by name.

You belong to God!

Because God has the legal rights to you, you also have the legal rights to God.

So, assert your legal rights by becoming familiar with your inheritance in God and do not allow the enemy to unlawfully arrest you.

Your legal rights

  • You have a right to salvation because of God’s everlasting love and mercy to you.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

  • You have a right to freedom because the Lord Jesus Christ free you from the bondage of sin and shame.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2)

  • You have a right to health and prosperity because the earth is the Lord and the fullness thereof (Psalms 100).

And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. (Exodus 15:26)

  • You have a right to safety and protection.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. (Psalms 91:1-3)

  • You have a legal right to a glorious inheritance.

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: (Colossians 1:12)

Other scripture references about your inheritance: Acts 26:18; Ephesians 1; 1 Peter 1:4.

What an inheritance!

For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia, and Seba for thee. (Isaiah 43:3)
