The Foundation Of Mercy

mercy seat

The Lord spoke to Moses above the mercy seat on the Ark of the Testimony.

Now when Moses went into the tabernacle of meeting to speak with Him, he heard the voice of One speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the Testimony, from between the two cherubim; thus He spoke to him. (Numbers 7:89NKJV)

The mercy seat was the foundation of mercy that represented the mediator between God and mankind.

This mercy is unconditional and it prevent sinful man from being consumed by the glory of God.Merciful regardless

Yet for many years You had patience with them, and testified against them by Your Spirit in Your prophets. Yet they would not listen; Therefore You gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands. Nevertheless in Your great mercy You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them; For You are God, gracious and merciful.(Numbers 9:30-31NKJV)

Jesus Christ has become the mediator between God and men, and has become the foundation of grace and mercy.

Consequently, you can trust in the mercy of God.

Trust in God's mercy

But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord because He has dealt bountifully with me. (Psalms 13:5-6NKJV)

You can count on God’s goodness and mercy.

In spite of the dangers that are around, you can depend on God’s guidance and protection.

Your ultimate reward will be a table filled with overflowing blessings in the presence of your enemies.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalms 23:6NKJV)

You can rejoice in the mercy of God.

rejoice in his mercy

I will be glad and rejoice in your mercy, for you have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities, and have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a wide place. (Psalms 31:7-8NKJV)

The path of the Lord is mercy, truth and righteousness.

Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore, He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. For Your name’s sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity, for it is great. (Psalms 25:8-11)

The Lord will always lead you on the path of righteousness.

Amen!

  1. I don’t know where I’d be without the mercy of God. I’m glad He has compassion on us and that Jesus made it possible for us to have fellowship with God and be covered with His divine protection.

  2. Answering your question on my blog: Generally I do think younger kids are much more receptive than teens and young adults. For our church’s high school and college kids we felt a few years ago we were going to lose them all with their attitude, rebellion and apathy. We prayed and felt that God has changed things in their hearts the last year. That line “But God…” is so important! But yes I agree with you sister

    • Good morning, Jim. It was nice of you to answer my question on my blog. I believe we ought to be sensitive to the needs of the youths and reached out to them in order to keep them. The testimony you shared comfirm something that happened at my church in 2017.

After the devastating hurricanes, there was a lot going on with the young people in my church. The devil was attacking them. The Lord told me that we should reached out to them personally and try to help them or else we would lose them. I told the pastor this and suggested that all the ministries united to focus to helping the youths. Unfortunately, he did not feel that this was what the Lord wanted the church to do at that time. Anyway, we lost all of the young people in our church.
