Strengthen Your Commitment

It appears as if commitment is not one of the strong points in the Church.

Over the past months, I have noticed a decline in the commitment of leaders in the church.

At the beginning of the year they started out strong and full of zeal, but by the end of the year, they are weary and some have even given up their posts.

The younger generation is choosing the broadway out of the Church.

There is a significant decline in attendance at prayer meetings.

I believe that prayer meetings are the engine of the Church and if the engine is malfunctioning then pretty soon the Church is heading for a crash.

This is the devil’s intention.

However, I am confident that the Lord will not allow His Church to fall because He said, “Upon this rock (the solid foundation of Jesus Christ) I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:15-18).

Therefore, in spite of how dismal the situation may appear it is best to continue to pray. Our prayers should be focus on a revival among the people of God.

There need to be a yearning for God. Our roots must be firmly anchored in the Lord. Sanctification by the truth of God’s Word is necessary.

In the latter days, there will be a purging of the Church.

Jesus told the lukewarm church of the Laodiceans that He will spew them out of His mouth because they were neither hot nor cold (Revelations 3:13-16).

God desires heat!

We must be hot in our commitment to Him. If there are pretense and hypocrisy the Lord will spew you out of His mouth.

If you are cold it means that you do not know the Lord as your Savior and so He stands ready to welcome you into the fold when you acknowledge Him as your Savior.

The Lord will not force Himself on anyone. You must be willing to receive your inheritance.

You must also be willing to pick up your bed and walk

God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19)

Jesus said that the gates of hell will not prevail against His Church.

The Lord has spoken and so what the devil meant for bad the Lord will turn it into good.

I do not know how He will do it, but I know that His statutes are always right and His judgments are true and righteous altogether (Psalms 19:7-11).

After all, God is the great I AM. He embedded himself into our DNA before we were born.

So, how far can we run from God?

The Lord is excellent in all His ways and I trust Him to right whatever wrong that is occurring in His Church even now.

Hallelujah! Glory to God!

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass. And He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. (Psalms 37:4-6)

  1. God is everywhere at all times, not just in the church, God is in our hearts and we carry God’s love with us at all times, i have found that love only recently.

  2. I see the church under such fire from outside that members are ready to give up. Honestly, it would be great to see churches meet in parks and living rooms and give up some of the over-priced, under-used buildings that are burdens.

I’m praying for a new fire in our churches, one that starts in the hearts of the people.

Well. Your post stirred up something in my heart. Thank you.

    • I feel exactly the same as you do. I feel so sad when I see these large buldings are empty most of the time while people are homeless. I think the government should mandate that for every church that is built they should also build a school, shelter or homes for the homeless on the same property.
I am nominating you for the real neat blog award. Look for it tomorrow morning. I hope you do not mind.

  3. When we are faithless, He is faithful! Praise God for his faithfulness in keeping his Bride! Yet, we still need to do better… Thanks for the post; good stuff.

  4. So true that the younger generation is leaving the church. It’s very difficult to see, especially for those who have been taught the truth of God’s Word since they were young. But we have to just keep persisting in prayer that their hearts will turn back to the Truth of Jesus Christ.
