Promised Deliverance

The Lord specializes in deliverance – Day five of our fourteen days of prayer.

God is able to deliver you from the enemies and He will also deliver the good things into your hand.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. (Psalms 84:11)

These good things are your health, prosperity, the Promised Land or your divine destiny.

The Lord will also deliver the enemies into your hand.

However, the reversal can happen where God will deliver you into the hands of the enemies as a result of rebellion and disobedience (Judges 2:14).

In the midst of God’s chastisement, He will be merciful.

The consequences of sin result in bondage, but the Lord Jesus Christ specializes in freedom.

He will deliver you from anything that seeks to destroy your soul.

But the Lord your God ye shall fear; and He shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies. (2 Kings 17:39)

Do you know the identity of your enemy?

Satan is your primary enemy, but he has people who work for him.

Here are ten enemies that the Lord promised to deliver you from.

1.  You will be delivered from the Egyptians and from those who oppress you.

And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drove them out from before you, and gave you their land (Judges 6:9)

2. You will be delivered from Balaam – deliverance from failure and people who are against you.

But I would not hearken unto Balaam; therefore he blessed you still: so I delivered you out of his hand. (Joshua 24:10)

3. You will be delivered from the Philistines – restlessness and wandering.

Then David enquired of the Lord yet again. And the Lord answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand. (1 Samuel 23:4)

4. You will be delivered from Saul – those who seek to destroy you.

And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand. (1 Samuel 23:14)

5. Deliverance from the Assyrians – those who rise up against you.

And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake. (2 Kings 20:6)

6. Deliverance from famine, war, and troubles.

He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword. (Job 5:19-20)

7. Deliverance from eternal damnation.

For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living? (Psalms 56:13)

8. Deliverance from workers of iniquity

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. (Psalms 37:1-2)

9. Deliverance from the deceitful and the unjust.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. (Psalms 91:1-2)

10. Deliverance from sin by the Lord Jesus Christ

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: (Colossians 1:13-15)

Today’s prayer is taken from 2 Samuel 22

And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in Him will I trust: He is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid; The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and He did hear my voice out of His temple, and my cry did enter into His ears. He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters; He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay. He brought me forth also into a large place: He delivered me, because He delighted in me. The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God. For all His judgments were before me: and as for His statutes, I did not depart from them. I was also upright before Him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

Therefore the Lord hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in His eye sight. With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright. With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down. For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

As for God, His way is perfect; the Word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all them that trust in Him. For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God? God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places. He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip. I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them. And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me. The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation. It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me.

And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man. Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

He is the tower of salvation for His king: and sheweth mercy to His anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore. Amen! (2 Samuel 22:2-7; 17-40; 47-51)

Thank you for praying with me. I pray that the Lord will grant you deliverance from all your enemies.
