Daily Twenty-four Hour Protection

Not everyone can afford to hire a security guard to protect their lives and properties.

Not every one need a security guard especially if you are not rich and famous.

However, if you know that vicious criminal is lurking around in your neighbourhood I am sure that you will want to secure yourself, family and property.

Unfortunately, all of us are exposed to a vicious thief who is walking to and fro upon this earth seeking to steal, kill and destroy.

But, I have good news for you!

You have access to twenty- four hour security everyday of your life.

And, the best part of this deal is that it is free!

All you need to do is to simply receive this gift and allow it to work for you.

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people. (Exodus 13:21-22)

God guided the Israelites throughout their entire sojourn in the wilderness by a pillar of cloud in the day and a pillar of fire in the night.

This was daily twenty-four hour protection!

The people were able to see a visible cloud in the day and a pillar of fire in the night that they could follow.

This literal evidence of God’s presence was to give them courage and strengthen their faith.

In spite of this, the older generation (except Caleb and Joshua) perished in the wilderness due to unbelief.

The Lord is still leading His children in this same manner.

You may not be able to see God physically, but His presence can be manifested in your life.

The cloud in the Old Testament represented the glory of God and His covenant of peace with men (See Genesis 9:13; Exodus 16:10).

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ is the Word of God who became flesh made in the image of the glory of God (Colossians 1:15).

The fire represents the anointing of the Holy Spirit. (Luke 3:16; John 14:26)

Therefore, let us endeavour to allow the glory of the Lord to shine forth from our lives by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit who is our guide to lead and protect us in this world.

And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.

And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the day time from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain. (Isaiah 4:5-6)

This post was inspired by Leola’s Thursday’s challenge – night.

To participate in her challenge, I looked up night in biblegateway’s concordance and  the above verses in Exodus caught my attention.

I then realized that God’s abiding presence in our lives is to lead, guide and protect us in this world.

We can’t afford to lose this protection!
