How Fertile Is Your Soil?
Early one morning a farmer sowed some seed.
As he scattered the seed on the ground some fell by the roadside and immediately the birds flew down and devoured the seed.
Some of the seed fell on rocky soil and they germinated and grew.
However, due to the rocks their roots could not go far to get water so when the sun came out it scorched them and they withered and died.
Some of the seed fell among the thorns and as you know weeds grew rapidly and so they choked the good seed.
However, all was not lost because some of these seed fell on good fertile soil.
The seed germinated and their roots descended deep into the ground.
Thus, the seed that fell on good ground produced a crop that bore fruit up to an hundredfold.
Revealing the good fertile soil
The good ground are people with a heart of integrity who not only listen and read the Word of God, but they are doers of the Word.
The good ground practice what they preach.
The good ground are the salt of the earth whose flavor is like sweet aroma to the world.
The good ground let their light shine in a dark world so that their good works are seen and the Father glorified.
The good ground pray without ceasing and labor in love.
The good ground do not grow weary in doing good because they know that in due season they will reap if they do not give up.
The good ground will bring forth fruit with patience.
When patience work in you, you will become mature and complete.
You will become the oil and wine!
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. (Like 8:15)
