Trust And Obey

Two main requirements to serve God.

  • Trust

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

As for God, His way is perfect: the Word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him. (Psalms 18:30)

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. O fear the Lord, ye His saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him. (Psalms 34:8-9)

Trust in the Lord, and do good, so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him, and He shall bring it to pass. (Psalms 37:3-5)

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. I will praise thee for ever because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints. (Psalms 52:8-9)

  • Obedience

Now, therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. (Exodus 19:5-6)

But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. (Jeremiah 7:23)

And Samuel said, “Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” (1 Samuel 15:22)
