The Blood Of Jesus Christ

Why the blood of Jesus upon us and our children may not be so bad after all.

And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.” (Matthew 27:25)

When Jesus was arrested and taken before Pontius Pilate, the people chose to release a hardened criminal than an innocent man.

Pilate was against the crucifixion of Jesus so he washed his hands in front of the people as a demonstration of his innocence of the blood of Jesus.

But, the people cried out that they wanted Jesus to be crucified and they wanted His blood to be upon them and their children.

The law of the Israelites stated that if anyone kills another person they would be put to death (Leviticus 24:17).

Therefore, the Jews were proclaiming a curse upon themselves and children when they agreed to crucify Jesus – an innocent person.

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)

However, was it really a curse or was it a blessing?

The death of Jesus was ordained by God to redeem us from sin (Isaiah 53;1 John 1; 5).

The blood of Jesus allows us to boldly enter the holiest place in the presence of God (Hebrews 10:19-22).

The blood of Jesus makes us partakers of the covenant of Abraham and we are no longer separated as Jews and Gentiles but are all a part of the family of God (Ephesians 2).

Through the blood of Jesus, we can come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels without fear and trembling (Hebrews 12:18-24).

The blood of Jesus cleanses, purifies, saves, redeems, heals, delivers and restores.

I want the blood of Jesus to cover me and my children!

The blood of Jesus upon us and our children may not be a bad deal after all.

What do you think?

  1. I can find in the scripture where we are to do thus. He lives in the TrueBeliever thru the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirt covers the children until accountabiliy(possibly, according to Jewish religion which is 12 or 13. Remember our Christ was a Jew until death). Please search the scriptures and then choose. :))

  2. As in Numbers 22 when Balam was hired to curse Israel by Balak—God intervened and had him only speak blessings.

So it is with Israel wanting to pronounce a curse on the Lord’s perfect sacrifice—and take the guilt of sin upon themselves and their children.

God once again intervened with blessings of redemption and not death—through His Son Yeshua, our Messiah, Lord and King!

Remember—only God is Sovereign and knows what’s best for mankind. Even though many may reject Him—He keeps His promises.

    • Candice, you said it perfectly. The Israelites wanted to take the guilt of sin upon themselves and children, but that was not the plan of God. He turned the curse into blessings. Hallelujah! Thank you so much for sharing.

  3. The Blood of Jesus is a blessing, for there is Power (Dunamis) in the Blood of Jesus!

    We are cleansed

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (I John 1:7)

    We are forgiven

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Ephesians 1:7)

    We are sealed

Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people and said, “Here is the blood which seals the promise that the Lord has made to you based on everything you have just heard.” Exodus 24:8 (Type and Shadow for the Blood of Jesus)

Side note–The Greek word ‘Dunamis’ is the root word of our English words dynamite, dynamo and dynamic; which also can be referred to the Holy Spirit Power that God places within us upon Salvation through Jesus Christ.

      • Amen! We are ALL covered by the same blood and the same Spirit inspires us to write and remind each other of His teachings! “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” – John 14:26
