Seeking And Saving The Lost

There are times when we do not know that we are lost and sometimes we know that we are lost but we pretend that we are not.

Whatever the case maybe, whether you know you are lost are not, God knows when you are and He will search for you find you.

And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:9-10)

“I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong, and feed them in judgment.” (Ezekiel 34:16)

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’

I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. (Luke 15:4-7)

  1. Yes, so true. Even the ‘ten lost tribe’s of Isreal were not lost. God knew where they were.

Right away this message brought to mind two Scriptures, one in Jeremiah and the other in Psalms.
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13, and…

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” Psalm 32:8.

If one thinks they are lost, Gods Spirit will speak to their hearts, if they will but listen, and He will say draw nigh unto Him for He will draw nigh unto them, (James 4:8), and as Hawk2017 says above, we as believers of God and His Word, “must be ready to show them the way in word and deed”, planting seeds along the way in the hearts of fertile ground. Then the waterers will come, and the seed will take root and grow, and in Gods precious timing, He will receive the increase.

Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
