Your Redemption Is Costly
Joseph’s brothers spilled the blood of a young goat all over his coat and took it to their father.
It was the coat of his beloved son, and Jacob wept bitterly and refuse to be comforted.
“A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, refusing to be comforted for her children because they are no more.” (Jeremiah 31:15)
Rachel, his dead mother, was weeping from the grave for her first born. The first born of every Jewish family who was martyred so that the Son of God could live. (Matthew 2)
So, they took Joseph’s tunic, killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the tunic in the blood. Then they sent the tunic of many colors, and they brought it to their father and said, “We have found this. Do you know whether it is your son’s tunic or not?” (Genesis 37:31-32)
