Eight Blessings For The Humble
For the entire month of July, the Daily Thanksgiving Devotion focused on humility and the blessings that we receive when we humble ourselves before God.
Whenever the Lord gave me His Word I have to apply it directly in my life. Therefore, during the month of July, the Lord sent me back to the ashes of despair to teach me humility.
I learned to humble myself and cry unto to God for His favor and He heard my prayers.
The following are a some of the benefits that you will receive from God when you are humble.
Benefits of Humility
-
The Lord will not forget your cry.
When He avenges blood, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble. (Psalm 9:12)
-
The Lord hears the prayers of the humble.
Lord, you have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear, to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may oppress no more. (Psalm 10:17-18)
-
God beautifies the humble with salvation.
For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation. (Psalm 149:4)

The Lord will give you beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. (Isaiah 61:3)
-
You will never fall.
Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
He who heeds the word wisely will find good, and whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he. (Proverbs 16:18-20)
-
You will receive joy.
In that day, the deaf shall hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness.
The humble also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. For the terrible one is brought to nothing, the scornful one is consumed, and all who watch for iniquity are cut off—(Isaiah 29:18-20)
-
You will become the greatest in the Kingdom of God.
The Lord said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Therefore, whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me. (Matthew 18:3-5)
-
You will be exalted.
“But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. (Matthew 23:11-13)

He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man. (Psalms 18:48)
-
Humility will unite us.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble.
Do not be wise in your own opinion. Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. (Romans 12:15-17)
Therefore, if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests but also for the interests of others. (Philippians 2:1-4)
During the month of July, we encourage you to receive the scepter of righteousness in your home. He is God’s anointed One who will appoint you as kings and priests unto God.
We prayed that you will humble yourself before God so that your prayers will be answered.
We trust that you will never forget that you are fearfully and wonderfully made and you can rest assured that you will receive the blessings of Abraham.
As we enter a new month let us endeavor to continue to live a life that is pleasing to God.
