The Limitation Of The False Prophets
God has ordained prophets and priests on earth to do His work and to strengthen His people. Of course, Satan, the evil impersonator, will try to pattern everything that God has accomplished to defile it.
Hence, Satan has also ordained his own prophets and priests to do his will. Both sets of prophets are able to foretell future events and to perform miracles.

However, there is a limitation to the works of the prophets of Satan.
1. The false prophets cannot create life.
They could not turn the dust into lice, one of the plagues that God sent on the Egyptians (Exodus 8:16-19). Neither could they reversed what they had started. For example, even though the magicians caused frogs to appear on the land they could not send them back to the river. Pharaoh had to send for Moses to entreat the Lord to take away the frogs (Exodus 8:6-8).
2. Satan’s prophets cannot restore.
Satan’s prophets can perform healing through sorcery, divination, astrology, and witchcraft but they cannot restore you to your original position.
3. The false prophets cannot deliver you from demons because a kingdom divided against itself will fall (Matthew 12:22-30).
Satan’s miracles are derived from tricks, magic, sorcery, astrology, familiar and demonic spirits, and witchcraft.
4. Another important miracle that Satan and his prophets cannot perform is to make fire come down from heaven to earth.
Only God can perform this miracle (Genesis 19:24; 2 Kings 1:10; 2 Kings 1:12-14; 1 Chronicles 21:26; 2 Chronicles 7:1; Job 1:16; Psalms 18:13; Luke 9:54; Luke 17:29; Revelation 20:9)
This miracle was demonstrated when Elijah challenged the false prophets of Jezebel (1 Kings 18)
However, Satan is now conspiring with men and their technology to perform this miracle. Read: Fire From Heaven
5. The false prophets cannot uncover your iniquity.
This is because their hearts are corrupt so their prophetic words cannot convict you of sin and iniquity (Lamentation 2:14).
6. The false prophets prophesy for money and power.
The aim of these deceivers is to gain millions of followers, money, and power, so they get involved in all manner of sorcery and divinations to produce signs and wonders (Jeremiah 5:30-31; 14:14).
7. False prophets cannot celebrate their colleagues’ successes.
The false prophets, priests and even pastors are envious of each other. They will do anything to destroy another person who is prospering or have more followers than themselves (Jeremiah 6:12-13; 8:10).
The true prophet of God, even when they are ridiculed and castigated, will leave vengeance to the Lord. Their hearts are pure because the love of God dwells in them.
8. The false prophets do not know the difference between clean and unclean.
Neither can they distinguish between the holy and unholy. Thus, by their fruits you shall know them, that is, by the company they keep and the words they speak.
Their speech is not seasoned with salt, but with deception and empty promises. (Ezekiel 22)
9. False prophets cannot deceive the elect with their signs and wonders.
Jesus said that there will be many false prophets in the latter days who will deceive many people except for the elect.
Ensure that you are part of the elect because they are the oil and wine (Matthew 24: 11, 24).
10. The false prophets don’t show their true personality. They cannot bear good fruits.
Jesus said that they come to you in sheep clothing (meek and mild) but inside they are ravenous wolves. We can know them by their fruits because only bad fruits they can produce (Matthew 7:15-20)
The genuine prophets of God are few on the earth and the land is corrupted by the many false prophets.
“The people of the land have used oppression, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the strangers ( foreigners).
So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.
Therefore, I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads,” says the Lord God. (Ezekiel 22:29-31)
The Lord could not find a man who could stand in the gap before Him and the land of Israel hence He poured out His judgment on them.
Fortunately for us in our dispensation, God has found such a man who is our High Priest; and He is standing in the gap like a wall between God and this entire earth.
He is our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen. Thanks be to God!
