How To Obtain The True Knowledge Of God

Knowledge is important because if you lack it, you will perish.

But, not every information is factual or good. So how do you know the difference?

There is an abundance of information on the internet.

Many are accurate data, but many are filled with deception.

Some of these websites especially on YouTube are dishing out information by the thousands but have no concrete evidence to prove their claim.

The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. (Proverbs 18:15)

The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. (Proverbs 18:15)

Some of the information is based on assumptions or hearsays. They have a political or monetary agenda and are not concerned about the truth.

Sadly, many Christians follow these websites by the thousands and readily share their information on social media.

Many times I have heard social media evangelists preaching on deceptive theories that are not biblical.

What are these theories?

The most popular theories are about the end-time prophecies in the Book of Revelation.

They selected certain famous individuals or heads of state and claimed that they are the beast and calculated their names to equal 666.

The internet is filled with prophecies proclaiming doom and gloom in the world, which promote terror and instigate fear in the mind of people.

Some of these websites claimed that scientists are inserting computer chips in people’s hands and foreheads.

Others claimed that the Nephilim have returned to the earth to become the antichrist while another theory argued that space aliens are returning to take over the land.

Some people go to the extent to set dates for the rapture. When these dates are not fulfilled, they give you a multitude of excuses.

Sadly, many gullible persons soak up these demonic doctrines like sponges.

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed (2 Peter 2:1-2)

With so much information bombarding you, how can you know the truth?

You are either going to believe everything that you read or you become cynical and refuse to believe anything.

Both decisions are unhealthy!

If you remain in unbelief, you will miss the wonderful plan that God has for your life and if you trust everything, you will become foolish.

So how can you know the truth?

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:31-32)

Two important things about God that you need to know.

  1. God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33)
  2. Fear is not from God (2 Timothy 1:7).

Both spirits are from Satan.

Therefore, any prophetic interpretation of the Bible that instills fear and or confusion in your heart and mind is not from God so disregard them.

It does not matter who or where you hear the information simply search the scripture to know the truth of God’s Word.

Remember, God is not like a man. His ways are unsearchable, and His thoughts are higher and far from ours (Psalms 145:3; Isaiah 40:28; 55:8-9).

You also need to test the spirit of the individual who is giving the information, and only God can reveal to you the spirit of a person.

Steps to keep you on the pathway of truth

  1. Ensure that you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and accept His redemptive work for your life. Read here to learn how to do this.
  2. Accept Christ in your heart, and He will fill you with His Holy Spirit.
  3. Always be obedient to the Holy Spirit because He is your guide, teacher, and comforter in the tribulation. He will interpret the Word of God for you.
  4. Pray Ephesians 1:17-23; 3:14-19 every night, so that God will pour on you His spirit of wisdom and revelation to know Him. You can read and copy it here.
  5. Develop a close relationship with God by your obedience to Him, by praying and fasting, by renewing your mind with the Word of God, and by receiving the mind of Christ.
  6. Love and forgive one another as God loves and forgives you.
  7. Be kind and compassionate to each other and even those you may consider your enemies.

With the Holy Spirit as your guide, you will learn to sieve through the bombardment of information and keep the truth while discarding the lies of the enemy.

All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the Lord, And all the families of the nations Shall worship before You.[d] 28 For the kingdom is the Lord’s, And He rules over the nations. (Psalms 22:27-28)

All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. For the kingdom is the Lord’s, and He rules over the nations. (Psalms 22:27-28)
