Will God indeed dwell on the earth?

King Solomon was commissioned by God to build His temple in Jerusalem.

It was a tremendous task, but Solomon received wisdom and knowledge from God so he was capable of completing this important mission and he did.

At the dedication of the temple, he asked the Lord whether he would really dwell on earth in a temple when the entire universe could not hold Him. This proves the omnipotent presence of the Lord.

“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built! Yet regard the prayer of Your servant and his supplication, O Lord my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer which Your servant is praying before You today: (1 Kings 8:27-28)
