The Table for the Showbread

Today is the seventh day in our quest to build our body a holy temple unto the Lord. The Tabernacle of Moses was the former dwelling place of God and He gave Moses specific instructions on its construction. Each part of the Tabernacle holds a spiritual revelation of how we need to develop our body.

The Lord told Moses to build a table of acacia wood overlaid with pure gold. On the table is the showbread. What is the showbread?

According to, the word showbread meant bread of the presence. It was a cake or loaf of bread, and it was always presented to the Lord.

Our showbread represents a continual invitation from God to enter into His presence to commune and reason with Him.

You shall make its dishes, its pans, its pitchers, and its bowls for pouring. You shall make them of pure gold. And you shall set the showbread on the table before Me always (Exodus 25:29-30)
