The Mercy Seat of God
The cherubim represent the angels in heaven who continuously praise the Lord singing holy, holy Lord God Almighty. Wherever the Lord is, there is glory and praise.
The Lord met and spoke to Moses from above the mercy seat. It is on the premise of worship and praise that the Lord will commune with us. We can meet the Lord at the mercy seat of grace.
And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy-seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel (Exodus 25:22).
