I am sure you answer affirmatively to all the above questions because we all want the best in life. There is nothing wrong if you feel this way because God also wants the best for you.

The Lord showed us in the Bible how we can receive wealth and fame. It is only a matter of choosing the right hand. The following is a story of a young man who selected the right hand and received a vast amount of wealth. He became the richest and most famous king of the entire world.

King David of Israel became old and sick, and so he crowned his son Solomon to be the heir to the throne. Solomon began his reign after David’s death and was perhaps in his late teens or early twenties because he was old enough to marry. He loved the Lord and obeyed all His statutes and commandments.

One day while Solomon was worshipping in Gibeon, the Lord appeared to him in a dream and told him to ask for whatever he wants. The proposal was a great opportunity for Solomon to ask God for wealth, power, fame, victory over all his enemies and long life. These were every man’s dream especially if he was a king.

Instead, Solomon sought after God’s right hand. The right hand of wisdom contains long life or the tree of life while the left hand contains riches and honor.

God is the author and creator of wisdom and the universe (Proverbs 3:13-18). The Lord Jesus Christ (the tree of life) sits at the right hand of God, and has the spirit of wisdom, knowledge, understanding, counsel, might and the fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:1-5; Mark 16:19)

Therefore, God, who is the creator of all things, has in his right-hand wisdom, length of days, the tree of life, knowledge, counsel and power or might.

They are all personified in His Son the Lord Jesus Christ who is seated at His right hand making intercession for us (Romans 8:34; Colossians 3:1). In the left hand of God are riches and honor.

Even though Solomon knew from his father that he was destined to be a great king, he was very humble and considered himself as a child who was helpless and lacked knowledge (1Kings2:1-9; 3:7). He wanted to walk in his father’s footsteps and be as truthful and upright as he was.

Solomon also recognized that the people whom he served were God’s chosen people who were great and numerous. Therefore, he asked the Lord for an understanding heart to be able to judge the people fairly.

Without realizing it, Solomon had asked for the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, even though Christ had not yet come to earth.

The Lord was very, very pleased and happy with Solomon’s request and gave him all the contents of his right hand which are wisdom, knowledge, and understanding and also long life if he continued to walk in his ways.

As an extra bonus or ‘brawta’ the Lord gave him the contents of His left hand (riches and honor) which Solomon did not request.

Solomon became the wisest and richest king that had ever lived on the face of this earth. Many people including kings and queens (Queen of Sheba) came from all over the world to visit King Solomon to receive knowledge and advice from him.
